I recently too this screenshot at dodixie, of what looks like a corp either getting their butts whooped, or innocent bystanders getting ambushed.
Someone care to tell me what is going on?

EVE is what's going on. This is a game about spaceships shooting other spaceships. Depicted in the picture are spaceships shooting other spaceships.
What about it strikes you as odd? |

You are looking at what many often refer to as "Station Games."
Basically someone (who is usually at war with someone else) undocks in a super tanked ship, soaks up as much damage as possible, and then docks right back up to laugh... all without ever firing a shot.
Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

A friend of mine I got into eve undocked in jita for the1st time since Rubicon hit. The wtf is all the red was hilarious. He redocked in panick. |

Your overview settings are bad. (ccp insists on having all the worst settings for the default overview)
There's at least one fleet, their FC has called a primary target and the fleet is shooting at it.

Yes, there always some amarr milicians, like trigger99, who are tanking the police in T3 on the station dock range to snipe the poor matar mil. But unfortunatly nothing like the big battle pictured by OP.
Rens is better for that. |
