The universe isn't a nice place. Get used to it. Don't trust anyone you find in lowsec or nullsec. And stay out of W-space, whatever you do.
As soon as you develop a healthy level of paranoia, you'll do just fine. |

What the hell, man? Do you want people to die in gate camps? W-Space is ideal for a careful explorer, you just probe down a few wormholes until you find an entry into NullSec and you're good to go.
Or your cargohold is full and you want to get back to safety? Instead of running one gate camp after another deep in Null, just go through W-Space until you get back to HighSec (or LowSec, if you have a covert-ops ship, you are safe already).

Because they are sad, sad little excuses for people.

Works fine here.
Some weeks ago I got lucky and made ~900million ISK in ~25 minutes with a Angel 5/10 site. Sometimes you don't find any sites.
Watch your d-scan and you should be fine, at least for combat sites. Relic/Data sites are for peasants. German blog about smallscale lowsec pvp: http://friendsofharassment.wordpress.com |

EVE was designed when there were much less players around. What was supposed to be PvE has turned into PvP deathtraps by lack of territory expansions. Now game (its null part) requires a bit too much motivation, determination and GTC purchases/sales to play it. |

Yeah it's not like you can go through entire regions of nullsec without seeing anybody else in local...
PS if you're buying GTCs to fund PVE you're seriously bad at this game |

You can make isk running sites in highsec. Lowsec, Null, and W-space require friends or being extremely crafty and aware of your surroundings. |

Get more paranoid about local and dscan, and perhaps find some greener pastures. Exploration outside hisec is heavily affected by the environment created by other players. Some places are more dangerous than others as a result. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"
Never forget. |

A agree with you OP ....
I suppose you're new to the game, but Eve is a Real Money game and the publishers want things to explode, so most reward content goes in places that will promote explosions.
Just the way it is, based on how they setup the subscription model.
You either find your game in High Sec and progress with missions, trade, etc... or risk it all for Low or Null and overall come out behind the curve.
After awhile you'll realize what everyone else does and find a comfortable play style in HS, since there really is no honor in this game for anything related to PVP and CCP refuses to create arena content.
Just ignore the PVP chest puffers in the forum |

Because you're there, and they see you (or their attention is ON you). It helps to go to low traffic areas (once you get past the bubbles). Or at very least go to FW areas.
WH space is a big jump in wrong direction if you are just starting.
I love to explore. I love exploring in low sec, and making my way to null sec - because of PI. Eventually exploring directly will be worth it, meanwhile I love to find bits and pieces of info that will add up to me establishing a practical niche in eve. Meanwhile I scan, explore, scan, explore.
Paranoia helps. Practicality is better. I would rather fly a mammoth through low sec to pick up PI components then train 50mil worth of skills so I can fly a cloaky transport.
Using a T1 scanning frigate is good. A T3 explorer is better (+10 virus - it pays off the more you practice with the badder viruses).
