Is training to become a smuggler worth it? I was introduced to the game by my roommate and he told me I might as well get rid of the drugs I had found in deadspace because I wouldn't be able to move them without the help of a really expensive smuggler.
This piqued an interest and so I'm here to ask if I should work my way into smuggling skills, and just what they might be.
Thanks in advance

You can get smuggling skill at character creation, apparently it is not available outside of that. Many people here say the skill is broke, while others say it isnt. I have no idea what the case is for sure.

The trade skill Black Market reduces your chance of being caught smuggling by 10% for every level (90% chance of being caught at lvl 1, 50% at lvl 5). With smuggling tech, you can lower that chance to 0%, effectively. That's how you smuggle.

The full Snake Regular set of implants gives you a 53% bonus on smuggling; coupled with the Black Market skill, that's a 103% chance of successfully avoiding detection by Concord Customs.

According to the devs the smuggler skill does not work, however one does not need it to smuggle, its all in the equipment -------

You are gonna need butt-clenching level 4 and rectal cavity concealment level 3 at least.
You know there is a reason they call it "Krack Kocaine."

Smuggling is not a viable route for a character.
Why?
The real smugglers use throw away characters to do the actual smuggling. The factions hits add up over time so its most effiecient to use a lowbie is a junky ship to move contraband.
Its a game design flaw.
Wherever you went - here you are.

That's really too bad, as it would be really cool to be a full-time smuggler.

If you get standings hits while smuggling youre doing something wrong Plus Customs have 100% webbers and 100% effective target jammers, wasting drugs on getting caught would be silly. -------
