Last night I encountered what I think may be a bug. I'm at work, so sorry...haven't gotten to create a proper ticket yet. But perhaps I am just going insane?
This is what happened.
A new invitee to my WH corp was still awaiting his roles to drop. He joined us in system and was enjoying protection from the POS by means of a provided password, as well as being set blue to the corp (+10).
The POS had the following security settings: Attack is standing lower than 0.1. Attack if at war. Nothing else.
We returned from hisec with a load of fuel blocks, which were placed in the corp hangar.
I transferred the fuel blocks to the fuel bay of the tower (Caldari large).
At this point, the POS abruptly ejected the blue player, and began firing on him. Luckily it's mostly webs and jams, so the DPS isn't too high, and he is in a very tanky and locally-tanked ship. So he tanks it.
I was able to get the guns to stop firing on him by resettiing his standings with the corp and having him warp off-on grid.
Conclusion: something about loading the fuel caused the POS to go haywire here. Noone else was on or capable of adjusting standings or the POS defense settings but myself.
Has anyone else experiences something similar? if this had happened to a covops or logi it wouldlikely have been a loss. I'd like to understand this so it can be avoided, and if it's a bug I believe it needs fixing. |

I know previously you've had to relog for the server to sometimes "notice" certain status changes such as corp change (I've not had alliance chat appear in the past on switching corps) or when a war goes live.
Now these particular ones might have been fixed but it's possible there is a similar one for the POS system and loading fuel caused a momentary "drop" of password ejecting him from the POS into its field of fire. As I say this is just speculation based on other status changes which have needed me to log out and back in again for the status change to take effect fully. |

POS standing management is sloppy at best.
i do have a pos i often use, both with in corp and a +10 alt the +10 alt will or will not be agressed by the POS, depending on....well after a year, i'm still trying to figure out what, seems random, sometimes it will shoot, sometimes it won't.....matter of POS mood maybe..
more seriously, this is not new, POS aggression mechanism is broken for non alliance / corp memebers, in fact it as always been, but noone cares so...deal with it |

We had a similar thing last weekend:
- A POS came out of reinforced - At 25% shield we started onlining guns (this is apparently a new thing you can do and may be related to the bug) - We shot our own POS with our own fleet of +5, +10 and alliance people - The POS shot back (although it shouldn't have) - To make things worse, the damage notifications had the name of the guy on them who was onlining guns! (He wasn't POS gunning, only onlining guns)
The POS settings were + Use alliance standings + Attack if standing is lower than 0.1 (Nothing else)
Two severe problems here: - The POS reacts on aggression although the setting for this doesn't even exist any longer! - The damage notifications accuse the wrong guy of shooting!
I have created a bug report. |
