I was wondering how much research on this bpo would be worth
at ME 0, the needs are:
88 cargo bays 55 cons. parts 15 armour plates 17 propulsion engines
Does anyone have the needs at ME 1 and/or me2?
I'm beting that taking it past that is pretty much useless?
Thanks

We took our HAC BPO up to 7 and it made a big difference.
I'd try for 5 or so if you really don't want to wait, otherwise pop it in for ME30.

Throw it in for a ME 1, mabey a ME 2
thats about it, it takes months to research these bad boys I think my corp worked out that taking dreads past ME 2 just wasn't worth the time spent having it in research so took it to ME 2 and then started cranking them out.

Unless I've missed out something totally with the numbers......
Then an unresearched BPO has a 10% waste factor.
Thus, and using your Obelisk BPO as an example, 'Perfect ME' would use only 80 Cargo Bays, 50 Construction Parts, etc.
ME 1 will reduce the waste to 5% immediately - on those capital ship parts I'm sure you'll find that significant.
At that point you can start doing sums to see if the research time is worth it. Going to ME 2, for example, will only save you an additional 1.66667% waste.

There's a calculator in the site in my sig that can work out the requirements at those ME levels if you need it

A nice guy from the blueprint told me that Obelisk ME2 needed these components:
83 Cargo bays 52 Construction parts 14 Armor plates 16 Propulsion engines
So I'm guessing that savings by one ME lvl would be something like:
85 Cargo bays 53 Construction parts 15 Armor plates 16 Propulsion engines
just a quick guestimate..

I don't think your spreadsheets are calculating freighter requirements right. I have production efficiency 5 and the Obelisk requires 88 cap. cargo bays, but according to your spreadsheet it should require 83.

You're right. There's a difference of 5 components needed from the BPO and the base requirements I had listed in that sheet. I'll get it updated as soon as I can get online to upload onto my website. All other details seem to be OK though.

Think I'm gonna have to download open office so I can use spreadsheets again

Let me know when you update it. If it were accurate, it would be a useful sheet.
Any way you could toss PE research onto the same sheet? Or just send me an unlocked version and I'll put it on there.
