Hey folks,
Been debating it for a while now and decided it's about time I looked at getting into some Incursion's for that extra bit of ISK. I have read the Incursion thread, detailing about the various fleet's, channels and such.
My question being, what experience are you expected to have to join a fleet? I appreciate SP makes up part of this experience, but am I expected to be experienced else where prior?

You are not required to have any previous experience in fleet operations in low or null, if that's what you mean.
One of the reasons for Incursions existing, is for the highsec mission runner to be introduced to being in a fleet.
Many people start incursions as a stepping stone up from L4 missions, and hence have no prior fleet experience.
When you first join an incursion fleet, most of the time the Fleet Commander (FC) will ask if it is your very first incursion, and if he doesn't then you should mention that in the communities public chat before you are accepted, and mention it also in the fleet chat after you are accepted. The FC will then be more than happy to explain all the basics. The fleet works as a team and they have every interest in keeping you alive, if you aren't sure of your broadcasts then the FC will ask his logi to perma-lock you. They really do not want to lose any ship in a site, no matter if it's a community veteran or a brand new pilot, it looks bad on the FC if they do.
As for SP, you really can start with very little. Your character is a month older than mine and I fly a Nightmare in HQ's.
You can start in a Rokh, Maelstrom or Hyperion with very basic skills, as long as you pass the minimum satefy reqs. |
