Been trying for over an hour now, try to log in and it gets to "logging in..." and just hangs there forever. I see others are having the same problem. It shows 13k+ online so what gives?

Can we please get some CCP response on this? Judging from posts in other threads I'm not the only one having this problem. Deleting cache has no affect. Petitioned but no response and I was supposed to get a char transferred today and now I have no way to contact the seller. I can't afford to wait the usual 2 weeks for a response from customer support on this.

ok im in, when the one client got stuck, i logged in another client at the same time.... could also be that its been "logging in" for the past 48 minutes though

I have had the logserver running in the background and noticed some, what to mee look like, errors while loading the client. Atleast some red flagged entries.

I don't think so, a person in another thread about the same issue has chars in 3 different regions on 3 different accounts, and the same thing happens on all of them.

It seems that rather than address the issue, they've decided that closing the threads about it is easier. The problem isn't going to get solved by pretending it doesn't exist.

Bump, problem still is not fixed.
Client still "hangs" after loading "flags" on login screen.

if you dont have a fast internet connection, patience might be the case.
Yesterday after the new patch it took a while for me to log in and because i have bandwithmeters running i can monitor this, it took a few minutes of pretty hefty downloading when i was loggin in and after i pressed my character...
just leave it for abit, if you get "system loading etc" should do it after pressing your char for a few times.

I have one of the fastest cable connections my ISP has to offer, so no that is not the problem.
Problem is still that the client will not continu to the character selection screen, it just stalls on 1st login window with the progessbar at 100%. I could leave it at that untill I starve it will not do continu to the char selection screen.

same problem here. Got connection problems for 2 days now. And as it seems to be many with this problems, I really think ccp ought to look in to it. Xerxes

I spent the entire day yesterday trying every fix imaginable and going in circles with the so-called customer support. After the usual canned responses they sent replies saying they couldn't even look at the problem until I sent the file they requested. Each time I obliged and got a response requesting yet another file, which I also sent. Now that they have run out of files to ask for, I haven't heard a word from them.

That support page doesn`t help a much. It only deals with clients "hang".
The problem discribed in this thread maybe the same as in others, but the client does not crash or hang what so ever. So the support site, however nice it might be, does not help us with the problem at hand.

The original poster did say that the client hanged when he tried to log in. It sounds to me that the problem he is having is similar to mine, and that problem is described in the support document I linked to. As I mentioned the solutions offered are not bulletproof - they didn't corrct the bug in my case, only made the bug less common
