For the past couple days I've been playing, the game has been freezing HARD and the graphics will either stay or shift to a blue screen with no text whatsoever. Included with this is the last bit of stream of sound.
Someone in my Corp mentioned clearing out my game Cache. I would like to know how to do at least that if that's the problem. If it's not. I don't know what is. Because I've downloaded and installed all recent drivers for my computer.
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the steps to clear your cache.
Go into your HDD that you installed Eve on. Find your Program Files/CCP/EVE/Cache file. Delete everything in it EXCEPT for the "Settings" Folder. That one has all your folders for Bookmarks and Buddy list. Once those are deleted log in and see if that helped.

Unfortunately my problem still persists. It usually acts up around 5-60 mins of game time. Having to reboot my computer is becoming tiresome. >.<;

Okay...This is getting to be unbearable. it's been happening more frequently when I'm in a gang and my leader has a cruiser. I've tried clearing my cache and updating my drivers. I have more than enough ram and the game is displayed beautifully.
I've just deduced it to being internal within EVE. All my other MMOs work fine. What gives?

I suggest upping your AGP voltage. That has fixed similar problems that I've had in the past. In my experience, hard locks and freezes (meaning no error text or bsod or even a reboot) tend to be caused by hardware lockups. I guess you could say it is due to the game code, but that is only half true. Anyways, try that, and let us know if it works.

So here's the lowdown of the past couple hours. I had two of my best friends come over and my corp leader discuss things.
Somehow they were able to get the blue screen to turn into the actual BSOD which layed out the problem... For some reason it layed in my sound blaster.
Mine is a Creative SB LIVE! card. Hopefully we've nailed the problem down. I've edited my soundcard settings and maybe this will fix the error.

What did you do to the soundcard ?
I'm getting the same sort of error and it's pulling the whole PC as well. I only get the problem when I'm running two clients but 5 seconds before it crashes the sound starts 'popping' and then the PC dies.

EVE has a problem running sound on certain soundcards. Most of the ones that cause problems are the Sound Blaster cards. If you are also getting the BSOD or the computer is freezing try disabling sound in the game and it should stop the problem.

Has CCP made mention of any attempts to fix that problem?
I played Eve on a trial about a year and a half ago and it played without a hitch.
I never got the chance to resub.
I got a second trial in December of last year, which of course was after all these expansions, and suddenly I'm BSOD. The fix turned out to be turning off audio in game. Now the game works fine - but there's no sound! At least I can play... I wouldn't mind knowing, though, if CCP has any plans to work on this, since I kinda miss the sounds of Eve.

Edited by: Katsumoto on 19/04/2006 18:54:19 Just fixed the same problem 2 days ago.
I just removed my old crappy Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card ffrom 3 years+ ago and fitted a SB X-fi and no more lockups and perfect sound on teamspeak.
p.s this was with sound turned off in-game and its still turned off now. for some reason even with sound turned off, i still crased, but not any more.

Got the same problem on different computers. One with audigy 2, and one with onboard soundcard (ac 97 based).
BSOD all the time. I'll prolly try out a non ac97 based soundcard next time, or give the new sb line a try.
