To see which empires are friendly, which are at war, etc so I can know which empires I can do missions for that will help not hurt my standings with other empires..
ie If I run alot of Amarr missions, and have good amarr standing, and decide to go do Minmatar agents, will that hurt my standing with the Amarr, and so on...

Gallente - Minmatar
Caldari - Amarr
But there are sympathetic groups to empires awhile such as Mordu's legion, ORE etc 3rd party groups not specificly assoicated with an empire but can be influence by your standings with them.
Also if you want to do missions which won't hurt your standings with any empire but only raise them prehaps do some for the Servant Sisters of Eve, Interbus and Concord.

None of the governments are currently at war.
In order to raise your standing with the Corp, you have to do Storyline missions. Agent missions don't affect standings with anything but the giving agent much.
As above, the current government alliances appear to be the Amarri and the Caldari vs. the Gallente and the Minmatar. The Jove, as always, are a wild card.

But doesnt storyline missions only come up so often? Is there a way to generate more storyline missions?

Caldari - Amarr Vs Minmatar - Gallente
Caldari missions will cause loss of standing with the Gallente, and to a lesser extent the Minmatar, afaik.

You can work out the rest :p I believe that is how it works atm, anyway. -------- Shinra Director

Doing missions for an agent raises the standing for the agent and the particular corporation that the agent works for. Storyline missions raises faction standing (Amarr, Caldari, Gallente or Minmatar) I have heard that you get a storyline mission for each 10 missions that you run but i dont know if thats true.. But i seams so

I've seen faction/racial hacking skills in the market. Have these been there for awhile? It seems like faction wars might be in the future. "Big guns and heavy armor what else is there?"

Edited by: Quanteeri on 10/03/2006 21:26:57 Usually, you gain standings much faster than the consequential lose of standings. My primary mission corp is Gallente, but I still have decent standings with Mother Caldari. To keep it up, I occasionally will go run for Caldari.
Also, if you're really worried about it, decline the mission against the opposition's Navies. Most of the time though, your missions will be against the various factions, unless you are actually running for a Navy, I believe.
My favorite corp is a science based corp, of which I have almost never received a mission to kill the Caldari Navy.
