hahahahaha... ganker maybe. not armor tanker. oh and it can't really do any serious kinetic or explosive damage now can it? (minus drones) ... so what happens when you come up against a hac or command ship that has uber resists to em and therm?

Just thought I'd throw my setup here, not really pvp ready, but does GREAT in pve(lv 4 missions all tanked, only 1 needed a warp-out)
1 med nos(diminishing or faction)--Replace with launchers if u want, find that it makes things go down faster, npc's can't tank so well if u nos them... 6x heavy pulse II's with multi or conf cyrstals. 1x 10 mw ab II 2x Cap charger II's 2x cap relay(best u can find) 2x Med Armor rep II's 1x Thermic hardner(faction is best) 1x kinetic passive hardner. 1x adaptive.
Find all resists over 80%, (thermal and kin) and other two are 85%+
Tanks ALL lv 4's very easily.. and with a few switched harnders, u can tank specific rats(go all em/thermal, etc for sansha, etc)

Well i am not to sure. i have never tried the absolution however since most of the times i fly solo in PvP i can take out a raven with my Damnation. ( you need to have some luck tough on what he has fitted aslong hes not jamming your fine )

Bumping the topic a little, iv'e got a question
whats the DPS one can get out of that thing without going full gank (as in, a ballanced setup betwen gank and tank)?

hell warrior your setups defencless agaisnt 60% of eve pvpers probably 75%, nos'ers will just walk all over your setup as i did today, ok they didnt have faction fitted but it was prettu much identical to what i faced in my bs.
You need and i will do the IMPORTANT "!"!%$!" OMG listen to me im a carebear ZYDRINE miner I KNO ALL !)(%(!"$*)(!"ú$!! IMPORTANT!!!
*cough* need a med cap booster with 800's, your setup would be good at the release of Shiva tho, just 18months out of date....

i might add if ur guna use this sucker for pvp listen to the pvp'ers not the mission runners that used to pvp, like with most things if u aint pvp'er 95% of time ur out of date with setups.
Nos is still the 2nd lamest thing in pvp (2nd to ecm) and u still need to counter it, trust me 2 CPR's do not defend agaisnt it.

Hmm, I hope you're not calling Hellwarrior a mission runner.
What i seem to notice is... you all try to make this a solo machine. Of course it will die to nos, and if you try to take on battleships, well. It's quite obvious what might happen in 50% of the engagements you'll run into.
Stabs, Nos, ECM, MWD, in all of those situations, your absolution will fail to kill.
Gang ship. All ships die to concentrated nossing, all ships can get jammed.
Don't you dare bashing Hellwarrior about his setup unless you use something else than your 1 year 4 month and 27 day alt.

those are non cap injector setups, i'm not sure if you are aware, however, if you don't engage a battleship, your cap won't be raped.
and yes i'm aware nos kill smaller ship types, also that setup can handle a nos or 2 on it.
now lets say you are soloing in my setup? you fit ab / injector/ disruptor
2 intys come in and tackle you with a bs or 2. you won't be able to hit the intys with heavy pulse without a web, you die. OMG your setup is blah blah blah
all setups have weaknesses, i gave setups, it is your job to apply them to the situation, if it doesn't work, change it. i never said it was a own all be all setup.
however i did state, 2 reps, a thermic , and a nano are the very basic tank you should run on the absolution.
also i dont really fly absolution in pvp, i dont' really like it, i have better things to die like lose expensive multi bil isk sleipnirs. kthx.

a absolution is very nice but slow.. nice as tank and dmg. dealer, but difficult to fly solo without a "enemies are near, i¦m the next victim for sure!" brandmark on your skin. you should have a little and nice support and sometimes 2 good jammers in teh meds! ^^

Edited by: kessah on 13/07/2006 22:05:38 ok i shall post my setup
6x Heavy pulse w\t2 ammo ofc ;) 1x Heavy t2 launcher \ Assault if u wish or defenders if there fixed.
1x AB best named 1x Warp Dis named think u need a 34 cpu for this setup 1x Med cap booster best named, w\800
1x t2 med repper 1x 1600 Rolled tungsten 1x t2 therm active 2x nano adaptives 1x HS t2 1x RCU t2
Forever engaging nos ships cap booster is there for my weapons mainly as to boost my single t2 repper but the resist and armour should hold out long enuf for you to pop ur target. I think the missle launcher is better than a nos just for alternate damage and precision weaponary for the annoying tacklers, especially with a t2 assault launcher.
I feel pretty comfortable in this ship setup. --------------------------------------------------------

I've noticed virtually all the above setups use heavy pulses instead of beams, on a ship with the agility of the absolution is the extra range provided by beams more useful or have you found that pulses are sufficent along with an AB to get into range?
Any comments from more experienced absolution pilots would be appreciated.

With Scorch you get an optimal @ 20km. And if you can't scramble it, it won't stick around anyway

my lvl4 mission setup...
6 heavy pulse II 1 arbalest heavy launcher
1 10mn afterburner II (soon to be faction version!) 1 TS web 14km 1 24% officer cap recharger
1 corpum a-type medium armor repair 1 medium armor repair II 1 corpum a-type energized adaptive membrane 1 TS energized adaptive membrane 1 TS 25% cap relay 2 mix of hardners/heatsink,dmg CTRL depending on mission
I've been soloing lvl4's in this ship and it works pretty well. it's not as fast as a pimped out battleship at doing them, but it can do them all the same. I even justed finished doing the angel cartel version of "worlds collide" solo.
I recommend a good afterburner and a faction web to help get in range faster. as long as I can kill off the frigs fast I can keep my speed up, and not in any danger of taking too much damage.
the second repair I hardly ever use, but it has saved my ship a couple of times, better safe then sorry

When i first got mine I tested it out on lvl 4 angel extravaganza. It did it easily enough. I don't do missions normally though so I don't know how easy it a bs could have done it. The high explosive and kinetic resist was a boon.

I am doing all the level 4 missions with a Zealot and an Absolution. Using a Zealot is an extreme, danagerous and rewarding experience, although i never lost it. Using an Absolution is "well... I am in the mood for a walk in the park". Except maybe for Mordus one, all the rest are just easy as cake in Absi. Here is my setup, maybe a slower killer but a reliable one. I never got more less than 50% armor:
High: - 6x Heavy Pulse Lasers II, 1x Medium NOS II
Med: - 10mnAB II, Webifier, cap recharger II
Low - 1 'Meditation' medium Rep, 1x Stab, 2x Dom energized thermic, 1x Dom energized magnetic, 1x Dom energized reflective, 1x adaptative
When i have to tank specific damage, limited to two types, I use one or two HS II's. That is all... I ussually take 2 spawns in the same time to make it go faster.
Resitances are 88/83/85/87
For the Zealot I use a similar setup, although, goes much slower when killing bs's.
For the pvp... any setup above is as good as any. It is important to be lucky, as Absolution is for the lucky ones ;).

I went shopping yesterday and tweaked my setup a little:
6 Heavy Beam IIs, True Sansha NOS (Same grid as a Diminishing, but better range) AB II, X5 Webber, Cap II Corpum-A Med Repper, 2x DB/TS EANs, 1 DB/TS Thermic, 3 HS IIs
Got to be said, that repper for ~200mil makes a strong difference to the tank vs Med AR II, well worth a purchase.
