Hey guys,
I sometimes use ECM burst on a frigate, and keep wondering about the said penalty of using it into anything smaller than a BS. How big a penalty are we talking about?
Also - could someone explain if ECM Burst II is better than the meta 4 one (Cetus I think). They seem the same in terms of effectivity (same range, same strength), but t2 verion sucks when it comes to fitting and capacitor use.

Regarding meta4 vs. techII; there are a whole bunch of meta 4 modules that are on par with techII, as you correctly identified their stats are equal, except that the meta4's are easier to fit and use.
So for these modules it boils down to price and if you can spare the extra fitting requirements. |

ECM modules are a prime example of meta 4 being better than T2, simply because of fitting and capacitor usage.
But I too am curious about the penalty mentioned in the description;

As far as I know, it means that only battleship can have it's ECM bonuses (so it's Scorpion only, as of now) applied to the Burst module. Smaller ships have this module unbonused. |

that's acctualy pretty good news.
ECM Burst just isn't an expensive module, and penalty applying to bonuses only is also marginal, as no one would put it on a griffin or a cruiser. It breaks lock and doesn't prevent re-locking after all.
