I've only been playing the game for about a week, but I love doing missions. Now, I've been completing missions for a ton of different agents (I probably have about 115 agents in my Agent list right now). I rarely use the same agent more than two or three times as I'd rather do Courier missions than Kill/Encounters. So a lot of the time I end up in a different system than the mission-giver and I just end up searching in my current system for another agent.
I understand that I'm limiting the amount of LP I can build up from individual agents, but are there are other advantages or disadvantages of doing it the way I am now that I'm perhaps not thinking of? I'm really doing it this way because it's easy ISK and I'd rather start a new mission immediately upon completing one as opposed to flying all the way back to the mission giver.
Should I stick with agents from one or two corporations, and if so, why?

Sticking with one agent/corp causes your standing to go up faster with them, and that results in slightly better pay and quicker access to higher level missions. Although I can see the advantage of doing it this way for courier missions: flying empty doesn't make ISK.
Have you been offered a storyline mission yet?

Yeah I've been offered three or four storyline missions and completed them. I made a point of going back to the storyline agents, although two of those I'm pretty sure were only one-mission deals.

Storyline agents call you, you don't call on them. They'll contact you when you've earned another storyline mission.

when 1st starting off in missions switching agents is what most ppl do, altho prolly not as often as you have been doing heh.
Your end goal is to be able to use the highest quality lvl4 agent you can, this will result in maximum isk/time (usually).
To reach this goal work for the highest lvl highest quality you can right now in your choosen division and do the 16 missions for him untill you get offerd the important mission , do the important mission which will give you a corp/faction standing rise and then you will be able to use a higher quality or even higher lvl agent , then rinse and repeat .. 16 missions then move up , this will get you to a lvl4 high quality agent the quickest using the normal route.
Other routes to take to get high faction standing is to work for cosmos agents.
