Yep, need me some more learning skills so I can train up to use a Titan before "Speed Devil" does, and then go blow him up for his unloyalness to the cause of getting more learning skills. --- Wolven Elite Guard - Currently recruiting |

Loki has hit it on the head. The more you add, the less obligated people will feel to train them. Like I always say, Learning is a specialization just like Gunnery or Science. I don't need CCP to make the choice for me. Release the Elite Learning Skills (and beyond) and people who don't want to train them, won't. ---

I'm sure the resistance is partially fueled by people who don't want newbies closing the parity gap quicker. Introduce something that allows people to "skip" steps/time, and the old guard always rallies against it. The old "why should anyone else have it easier than I did" mindset.
As I said in another thread, I think the true limiting factor for Elite (and beyond) learning skills will be their cost, since the lowest I can see (per book) for these skills would most likely be on the order of 45m, and possibly even as high as 450m if CCP keeps with the x100 multiplier for cost as they have for the difference in basic -> advanced.
Anything PAST "Elite" would most likely be 450+ million per book (assuming CCP adopts a x10 cost multiplier), putting them well out of the short-term realm of affordability, thereby largely eliminating concerns of "newbies getting 1337" faster than those rallying against them achieved *before* the theoretical Elite+ skills were released.
I mean, 45k (basic) -> 4.5m (advanced) -> 45m (elite) -> 450m (???) -> 4.5b (???), all *per book*.
Seems prohibitive enough for me to keep newbies out of the "1337 klub." As it stands, I'd just buy Perc and Intel plus the "Advanced Learning" skill.

I actually already have that exact skill programmed into my personal skills spreadsheet. The way EVE bonuses stack, that actually ends up being a VERY powerful skill. I want it. ---
