I still have the Zenith Supersport laptop with 8080 processor that I learned how to program on, with Borland Turbo Pascal.
Can I run Eve on that? |

I don't see why not, My Tandy 386 sx1 with 1.5 MB ram and 150mb harddrive allows me to check the internet, so even it should run Eve just fine. Eve should be awesome in 640x480 too.
The real chokepoint though is that 56k modem. Fleet fights are gonna be a *****.

It even had the tape drive. Think I've got one of those in the garage - But pretty sure the monitor adapter might be a bit hard to work with. Move up to the C64; much superior connection hardware. I actually stumbled across a programming guide for the Commodores and that was such a trip down memory lane I became Dr. Who for an hour.

Everyone knows CPU works better when chilled, but over-clocking is better. Now, if you loaded EVE on your microwave, and put the microwave in the refrigerator, you'd really be smokin'! OK, just for the challenge:
This will run on Win95 ... http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=856
.. and once installed it will let you access any XP machine that can run EVE.
So the serious answer is YES it will |

You know with a thin Linux distro it might even work.
Just saying.

Not really, Shaders and DirectX on Win95 are really behind and Eve Online does no longer have the 'low res' client. check the System requirements for specifics. But like someone said, you might give Linux/Wine a try although i am assuming since the shaders are a hardware limitation those will still prevent you from playing Eve Online on a machine that old. |

That reminds me of the old AD&D Character Sheet.
I think you are onto something though. It's possible to play with just the windows - overview, chat, HUD buttong (hot keys) and stats. Wasn't there a movement for an "all text interface" Eve client some years ago?
