Hi I want to talk about Wh Mining play after odyssey patch
in odyssey patch as you know the mining and combat site become anomally, it mean we can WH play without probe but it also mean ganker easily come to our anomally. I can understand combatsite cuz that make isk to easily, but the mining anomally... there is no hope... think about you are mining in W-space, you d-scan every second, suddenly interceptor are appeared in scan ,so you move your mouse to somewhere to warp to pos, but it is too late ... even ganker has a covertops.... you know what happen after..
so my suggest is this CCP .how about change mining site as a cosmic siginal only in WH? so we can probe that site and became more safe in WH. Thanks for reading and sorry for my english;;
if you read it plz comment about you think:) |

I do understand the pain of miners in wspace right now. We have suggested some interesting features regarding that. Hopefully its gonna be out for the summer expansion. CSM8 Member Twitter:-á@ChitsaJason Skype: Casparas

You can't have everything mate. You already have new signatures showing up without probes to give you a bit of a warning. Granted, it's not much of a warning if an interceptor jumps in, sees a mining barge on scan and then warps to the ore site but the inhibitor might just give you enough time to warp out, while the enemy scout tries to work out where the inhibitor is.
IMO, if you are mining just to make isk, ore mining in wormhole space is the last thing you should be doing. I know that's not very helpful though. +1 |

Better suggestion. Just remove Ore anomolies from WH's altogether. WH mining has to be possible the most god awful crappy activity you can do in WH space. Why anyone wants to actually mine in WH space to begin with is beyond me. |

I don't really see why you'd ever want to mine in a wh. It honestly boggles my mind whenever I see someone in a barge not at a pos. I immediately assume he is bait and wonder what is hiding cloaked on grid. I have very rarely ever seen something declock however :<

I actually agree with this, and I really dislike mining so that says a lot. Mining is pretty much suicide these days if you're on a WH day trip or in a small corp without any support. No idea how it should be fixed, but tossing in my 2c that I agree with it being it very hard for you guys to actually profit from mining in w-space. |

as always, the answer is cloaky falcon. And to stay as far as possible away from the warp beacon. And the mobile d-scan hider thing. And to watch the discovery scanner or whatevs. And to sit on a mobile depot and WCS it up to save yourself from a single guy. And to use a retriever so a loss isn't a big deal.
Mining in WH's has always sucked. It still sucks. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

I still have quite a few Anaconda Mines lying around in a station somewhere that would love to be tossed around a hostile WH. |

CCP already disallows Ice mining and moon mining from WH space. If people want to mine in WH space I'm fine with that, as long as they understand and accept that WH mining is probably the most dangerous mining environment in EVE.
My comment only relates to those same miners not accepting the notion of this danger and wanting something changed to make it safer. The bottom line is if miner's really want to mine in WH space they can still do it safely. Much of the same rules still apply. I haven't killed many miners, but the ones I have since odyssey mined away while they had multiple active connections, and no scouts watching those connections.
Yes Ore sites can be warped directly to now. But miners also now get an automated warning system with the discovery scanner. So if they take the time to collapse their connections their overal risk is still about the same.
So yea, if the choice is to somehow change Ore sites just for wormholes or just remove them, I'd just as soon see them go.

I disagree that mining in WH space is more dangerous....
I think it is the safest place to mine. If you do it right, there's no random destroyer gankers etc just your little bubble of space
But it requires scanning your entire Wh down and being aware of every signature in the system.
It also is best done if your wormhole is cleared of all other signatures first (so you only have your static WH signature in system) and you either place a scout on it or you close it and do not activate the new one (scan it down, but do not warp to it)
And constantly spam the show button on the scanner for new incoming signatures.
But here's what most miners do.
Warp to ore field. Find ore they want to mine, lock and activate lasers.... Watch TV/****/Youtube etc.
that's how you die in Wh space.
I see nothing wrong with the current system. It can be safe you just have to be paying attention (just like combat pilots have to pay attention) there's no room for AFK mining here.

The best thing to do is not stay at the warp in. Park yourself between a ton of rocks and make it as hard as possible for someone to sneak up on you cloaked.
Also, the cloaky falcon alt idea is pretty good as well. No trolling please |

Bane Nucleus wrote:The best thing to do is not stay at the warp in. Park yourself between a ton of rocks and make it as hard as possible for someone to sneak up on you cloaked. not sure if serious here bane but none of this will have any impact on getting or not getting ganked while mining. i dont think ive ever warped to zero on a belt in WH space in my life. standard process is warp to 100km, move to 150+km, warp to whatever rock is being mined. (or more often BM it for a corp BM warpin point)
falcon alt might provide some measure of safety if youre not afk (which most miners more or less are for some unknown reason) but you'll more than likely just end up losing that too since most ganks are not solo. Stuck In Here With Me:-á http://sihwm.blogspot.com.au/ |
