This is my 4th post on the matter and just an update since I think you guys need this canary.
I used to have 400ms ping before 8th March. It went to 500-600ms until last Friday. It dropped to 400ms again from Friday DT to Sunday DT. Rose to 500-600ms again since Sunday dt.
Now I'm mentioning this again because during downtime today (Tues), there were brief periods when I could ping 87.237.38.201 and at first I got 400ms then it went down again. 10 minutes later it went up again and 400ms. 20 minutes after that it came up for the last time and it's now 600ms.
So whatever you were testing during downtime was working, it's not working now. I'm connecting from China so particularly susceptible to any network changes at your end. Please investigate this.

I think it is a little unfair to expect CCP to fix the internet.

Bit offtopic but is EVE playable even with 400? ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Take my word for it.. it definately is. I've spanked people with far better connections than me. I get very little lag when it's at 400ms, but it does makes me slightly more vulnerable in fleet battles. __

Should be - that's less than half a second delay. Pretty sure EVE doesn't update like Quake 3 or heavy data-driven game, it's more of a "you press a button, game checks with server, server says 'OK' and your game performs the physics." --------
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code. |

Do you have any idea on how the intraweb works?
Oh, youre using ping as a network diagnostic tool, I guess you dont then.
Ping means... NOTHING in todays internet.
Of course people whine, its cause your sig sucks

I'm spamming my own topic a bit here but that delay buggers you up for tackling duty a good bit though. It's like having Sig Analysis lvl -10 __

ICMP delay != TCP delay.
Routers prioritise traffic, ICMP isnt a priority.

Intraweb? Internet? Such fancy terms, what's the difference? And not in todays, so it did mean something in yesterdays then? What changed? And can we still change it back? Relying solely on ping is stupid. Dismissing it completely however marks a familiarity with a computer on par with monkeys at typewriters.

Did you read my post where I told you that using ping by itself is stupid, but dismissing it entirely is even more idiotic? How can you diagnose a network outage if you can't even read three sentences correctly?

A simple ping can't tell where the bottleneck is (to be exact you need a lot affort to find the bottleneck). If you provide a traceroute here some smart ppl can tell you if CCP can do anything about it.
So please post what "tracert 87.237.38.201" tells you. -- $ perl -n -e 'print "Stop blameing pirates! Oveur is the root of all evil!\n" if m/podkill|lost my ship|gank|gate camp|Verone/;'

Using ping to try diagnose anything that doesnt transit only devices under your control, IS pointless.
Using it to diagnose problems on your own devices is making its way out also.
Again I ask, tell me what an echo request will tell you? Id like to be schooled by you, you seem to much smarter than I.
Please teach me.

1 is your NAT IP 2 is probably your CM internal IP (if it works the same way as NTL) 3 is your IP 4 is your BY proxy IP
