If you have a few mwd frigates in your gang, for tacklers which is pretty much a prereq, just have them warp around gate at 200km top bottom sides corners etc, in a sphere, and jettison 1 ammo. drop cans all over the place. Sniper warps in, warp your intys to can, voila tackle the sniper bs and poon him. Its really not that hard. I dont know if that was listed in that ridiculously moronic 17 page thread, but i refuse to read past the 2nd page. Have your fleet of cruisers/ bs align immediately in thier direction, and warp when your at speed and they are locked down. I mean damn its not that hard that you need to nerf t2 ammo. Fit short range t2 ammo, and wtfpwn thier crappy tanks. Youll take down all thier precious hac /bs t2 fitted snipers. This is one of the only ways SOME, not all, RA will fight, and once you do this, they will just give up, or get popped.
Edit : if the system is one you always camp, like an alliances territory pipe, once you got your cans spread out, have a hauler filled with small secure cans, warp in and drop them as well. Then they will last for alot longer.

I suggested pretty much this except with a few anchored secure cans.
Ammo cans will get popped in one shot killing your warp to point.

Ah ok, well im glad some people have a clue. Sorry i dont mean to take credit for what might have been posted, but the thread was just too long to read, and the first few pages looked like the only answer they came up with was nerfing targetting to 50km and getting rid of t2 ammo entirely. Cool thing about the ammo cans, is that if they are taking the time to shoot them, they arent locking your tacklers which are already in warp to the sniper. And from experience they will give up shortly thereafter especially if they dont got a cov ops warp to point.

Even if its not his original character the guy started to use brain. I recomend you listen to second poster, though. Anchored cans can be warped at, dropped cans with 1 ammo inside...hm...not sure

you can warp to em, can be a pain if a sniper harpy or eagle is warping in and popping your cans, but they usually will get tagged or scared of getting tackled before they really dent your can orb. So if its your pirate camp you use often, or alliance pipe, then yeah def use secure cans. Just make sure your in a situation where your not normally the sniper heh.

lol what would you do with your l33t skills? If it got that annoying, youd just replace them with secure cans, and your sniper would spend all day killing those. And prolly get popped half a dozen times.

Why would the sniper get popped?
He can snipe the cans.

Id probably have a whole bunch of sniping spots. You do know that space is pretty big right? A few fixed positions is not enough to stop someone who really wants to snipe.

With proper use of anchorable cans and your own sniper points, no matter where the sniper warps in he'll be in line between two already existing cans.

A sniper will usually snipe, warp, snipe etc.
Have an interdictor drop a warp disruption probe and the next time the sniper comes out of warp they get sucked into the bubble and much hilarity ensues. Thank you CCP for making sure that BS fights are again more than just how many SB and tracking computers can be fit onto the ship.

so he snipes your can at 200km from gate, hes now 300km from gate sniping the can, took his cov ops pilot scout 5 min to get that far from the can, and probably 1-2 min to warp to it, shoot it, and then warp out. in that 7 ish min, your inty pilot can go 60x3500ish m/s x7 = meters, which is more than enough to replace the can. meanwhile hes not in range to kill anything. Other than 1 small antimatter ammo. He also runs the risk of getting 4 pts put on him, by your tackle cov ops, and have an interdictor warp to him, and lock your sniper down followed by immediate pooning. Trust me when there is 20-50 cans out in all directions filled with junk, its not safe to warp in on that gate in range.

Remember, you have 500,000km to play with and still remain 200km from the gate. Unless you are deploying literally hundreds of cans he can snipe the gate and the can, and remain aligned to warp.

He warps in, pops a single can?
His covert gets him in a position outside 250 from hostiles and within 200 of as many cans.
Sniper pops cans
His covert has the system so well book marked it takes him 30secs to get into another sniping position to finish off the last of the cans.
Or, he waits for the lone ceptor to fly out to replace the can, and warps back in, and pops him.

Remember, you have 500,000km to play with and still remain 200km from the gate. Unless you are deploying literally hundreds of cans he can snipe the gate and the can, and remain aligned to warp.
But each can allows you to cover an area 100km around the can if you have it in combination with other cans.
100km around = 1/8 the volume around the gate.
So 8 cans in proper formation with support cans for angled warping = the whole area.

Try it against people with cov ops, does nothing. They simply dont come near enough to any of the cans unless youve dropped a hundred of them.

There is always more ways, but this one will pretty much stop them from sniping you effectively. The other thread that reccomended nerfing t2 ammo is pretty much the reason i posted it. Try it sometime youll notice most wont try and sniper you anymore, not if you have a mess of intys in your camp or an interdictor or two. The intys can be in warp to you before you even come out of warp in your BS. giving them plenty of time to get to that spot, and lock you down.

Most alliance people i know rarely gate camp with less than 10 ships, half of them mwd tackle frigs. wouldnt take long while you wait for a target in your bubbles for 100 cans to go up. can be entertaining as well. Ive seen the guys go so far as to start making can art when they get bored.
