Originally by: Mordocik Perhaps someone from Goonfleet would care to explain what your actual objective was yesterday, as I for one don't understand. You came to PF, and closed it down by bubbling both gates and having 50+ people on each. Fine, classic system shutdown well done. You then get a carrier in ... and procede to do NOTHING for some hours while we are trying to get a fleet together to fight you. We get a fleet together which is actually LESS then 20 for most of the time and start to assess the best way to fight you. We ask if you want to let us in to fight you, after all if you were there for a fight it should be apparent that we are NOT going to jump into a double bubbled gate with >20 to fight >130 in PF. You mock us for the suggestion, thats fine, but what do you procede to do? Nothing. You sit there for another hour while a couple of us (I managed to get past your gate camp) snipe at you and lure your (I hope) worse pilots into our POS and kill ~8 or so. Now you get really bored and leave and walk into our fleet that has setup to kil your en route, note still giving you odds of well over 3:1. So explain to me what the point of locking PF down was. You did attack the POS, and you didn't want to fight us. Just a show of force? If so consider myself for one very unimpressed.
You better wish Goonfleet never does a 'Show of force', if we can get up a 100 man gang on spur of the moment, I shudder (with joy) to think how big the gang would get on a planned engagement at goon prime time. You could have killed the entire fleet and we wouldn't raise an eyebrow.
That night there where over 250 people in our rudimentry corp channel, some of our best tactitians even opted out due to apathy. As to why we were in your system, that's up to the directors to answer.
Of course goonfleet uses greater numbers, anyone who doesnt take every advantage they can get is a terrible pilot. Honour be damned, fill your low slots with stabs and take on people 10 to 1, I don't think you'd find mention of any armies not attempting to overwhelm with superior numbers or terrain advantage in history. All that matters is winning, not looking good while doing it.
These are my own opinions and do not represent the corps own, I apologise if I offended any one in any way. It was a good fight and both sides fought well, it was good experiance for our newbies which may one day perhaps be able to rival penetrate's pod pilots blow for blow.
