Yeah sorry I can't come in-game right now. My sides are splitting too hard from laughing.
In any event, people don't seem really that ****ed that she jumped to conclusions and called someone a scammer who wasn't. (though Klesara probobly is. I would be)
Seems to me that people are ****ed at how high and mightily sarcastic her handling of the situation was, and still was up until her last post.
How seriously hard would it have been to say something like...
"You know, I was in a (rush/bad day/feeling poorly). I didn't check the shares to verify they were for the right corp, and didn't look back at the auction post to see that you were the original seller. I apologize for calling you a scammer. As soon as I can log in, and 100% verify that the shares are valid I'll be sure to send you the isk, plus a little something extra for the trouble I've caused you. Again, my apologies and assurances that this is not the way I, nor ISS regularly handle situations."
Bet that'd have kept the thread to one page right there. Oh for a time machine.....

Edited by: Sarmaul on 23/03/2006 23:14:15 Edited by: Sarmaul on 23/03/2006 23:12:58 and the irony is, the OP is calling SS a scammer without double-checking with her and talking to her more in private before hand.
edit: you make damn sure you've tried your hardest to get your money out of someone before you slander their name on the forums. if SS believed that the OP was a scammer (I'm sure there are a hell of a lot of threads she bids on, and lots of people who would love to scam her), then he needs to provide a link to the original post, explain everything clearly and ask for his money again. Then, after all that evidence has been put in front of her and she still refuses to pay do you make a thread called "Serenity Steele, CEO of ISS, a Scammer? This is unreal!".
mistakes happen, and a little bit of patience never goes amiss.

You make an excellent point re: the title of this thread. A more appropriate title would have left off "This is unreal!" and replaced it with "Surely not!" I did honestly intend for the title to be a question (hence the question mark) rather than a statement ("Serenity Steele, CEO of ISS, is a scammer!" is what I would have posted if I intended to make a direct accusation).
A few more evemails may have sorted out the situation, but I felt that since she had already called me a scammer in her first evemail, she probably would not be interested in further discussing the situation. Evidently I was correct, given her responses on this thread.

How is it "suspicion" of scamming? I sent her 25m worth of shares and she sent me an evemail where she stated that she would not be paying for them. That goes beyond mere suspicion. I quote:
Quote: I see I have the shares, but I'm not sending you 25m
If you don't want the shares, return them. But don't keep them and tell the sender that you aren't going to pay for them.

Doesnt matter how much it was, he owed the OP the isk and when it came to paying up he cries scammer and refuses to pay and doesnt give back the shares.
Im fully aware of what it takes to run an alliance so dont even try to make it out that Serenity is any more busy then the other allaince leaders out there who dont spend their time ripping of the little people (no offence to the OP). Whats ****ing me off more is the arrogance from Serenity that he knows he was in the wrong but an apology isnt beeing given to the OP but hes still made out to be this f00l thats crying over a little amount of iskies.
But whatever thats just my opinion of the matter and you ISS people might think diffrently.

It's not like he's able to go get help from someone further up the heirarchy. He was dealing with the top of the ladder. Another attempt at evemailing would have been ideal, but seriously... where can it be taken once the CEO has told you take a hike? _______ Can't find what you need? EVE Search |

If he can't find the time to pay people he owes for goods he's bid on, because he's too busy leading your alliance. Then hey, maybe he shouldn't bid on them in the first place?

Count TaSessine sent me payment for the shares, along with the following EVEmail:
********************** 2006.03.23 23:52 It was an honest mistake, mate. Don't you realise how many emails we handle everyday, this is like a frigging fulltime day job sometimes. Mistakes happen, SS was a little too quick on the trigger this time.
Next time you should try eve-mailing people nice and quiet again instead of this drama.
Money sent.

While I thank him for the payment, I am dismayed by the condescending tone of his EVEmail. Nonetheless, I consider the situation resolved. I thank everyone for their time.

Meh maybe so but bringing this to the forums was not exactly going to give anyone involved a warm and cosy feeling about this.
I might have dealt with the actual problem a little differently if this had been me and not Serenity but after Klesara brought it to the forums I would have been sorely tempted to hand over the isk and then have some location agent fun to give the little tattletale something to spend his 25m isk on

Its an unfortunate mistake, but this didnt belong on the forums. It could have easily been resolved with a simple return evemail.
Still, at least its all sorted now.
