Edited by: Elenoar on 25/03/2006 22:08:13 What skill(s)/Devices will almost guarantee that your opponent won't be able to get a target lock on you?

the "lol you can't target me so no pvp for j00" device. But it's not in the game since eve is based around pvp and such a thing would kill it.
target jammers (mid slot ew module) come pretty close though. If you manage to jam your target they will lose lock and won't be able to relock for 20 seconds.

Sensor dampeners also work wonders in this situation. They lower the targeting range of the opposing ship. Fit a couple of these and watch a person's targetting range drop to 10-20KM. Stay out of that range, and you have a good chance of not being targetted at all. I'm still alittle crabby about these really not working against NPC ships.......or do they? Sure doesn't seem like it when I fly the manticore around loaded to the teeth with sensor dampeners.

You'll need this skill for these mods.
If you boost your own sensors enough (Radar, Ladar, Magnetomatic, Gravimetric) an opponent cannot lock you. Please note that each flavour corresponds to each of the main races. So don't boost the wrong sensor against the wrong race. _

if your jammers strenght is stronger then the ships strength i beleive it is an "lol you can't target me so no pvp for j00" item. a rook with a racial jammer can get around 11 strength and therefore can lock down most frigates forever. this might be wrong though since i have not tested it fully but i beleive it to be correct.

So which one corresponds to which race?

ECM Jammers work on a random chance. Even if you have the strongest sensor strenght there is still a chance that you wil get jammed.
Point and case: my merlin got jammed by a newbie using a Ladar based ECM jammer...

They do work, however...NPCs also seem to have insane targeting ranges. I wanna know how to get some of their shiny tech. Some NPCs give me a message that the selected module (Sensor Dampner) cannot be activated on the target. Forum: A place where ideas come to prove their worth. Portraits rock!
