Amid all the sharp criticism I just have to give the management a compliment. We "all" just experienced a burp - momentary crash- of the server. I'm in the middle of a mission - drones out, entire room aggroed. I wasn't really worried. Warp to safe spot, warp back on relog. No biggy. But, I got logged back in less than a minute and my array of T2 drones were in the drone hold.
Good job, CCP. Not many games can do that. Well done.

Yeah. Sorry to say mankind has yet to reach perfection. Roofs leak. Tires go flat, and servers crash. Welcome to the 21st Century. Recovering from the inevitable, however - sometimes that takes forethought and planning. Those ready with disparaging remarks - uh...what can YOU do that's so great...I mean...besides play a game and complain about the service?
What interests me is: Where did all these people who think making ugly remarks serves as cleverness come from anyway? They might save getting a life for later and try getting a clue to start with. Don't fight it.-á Rejoin your Amarrian patriarchs.-á You know you want to. |

Always sucked losing drones before they made them automatically return to drone bay on a disconnect. Made me happy when they added that to the game. |

I too am impressed at bringing in a feature that should have been in the game from the beginning....

Or they could just let your ship stay where it is upon disconnect, and when you come back to a smoking wreck tell you to HTFU. I'm glad it's not like that but it very well could be. |

If you were in a marauder or a capital in a sleeper site when the server crashed, you would be singing a very different tune. Something like, 'refund my ship CCP'.
Server crashes have lethal results for players in 'real' pve, not the sandbox in high-sec. |

Drones attempt to return to the bay on emergency warpout now - I think they made that change in Inferno.

Not well done if you're covert cloaked, scrammed or in a Bastioned marauder. In fact its the opposite of well done.
A few years ago, actually 6, I was fighting a Hurricane in a close range blaster Arazu. His connection dropped but he managed to kill me anyway because his guns keep firing.
Today his guns would turn off and he'd just sit there and die.
Likewise if I was, as I was yesterday, cloaked inside a bubble near a POS yesterday, disconnected by the server and in a covert ops, my covert ops would turn off, ship would not warp and i'd be killed by POS guns.
Likewise in a Marauder, if I was in a fight, tanking in Bastion, and disconnected, my Bastion would turn off, my guns / missiles would stop firing, and I'd sit there indefinitely until I died. Ewarp only attempts once not when Bastion finishes.
While ewarping is a good idea, its implementation, as usual is amateur. Ewarp was designed to save your ship and likely to help against log on traps. In the latter it has the reverse effect in some cases, taking you from carefully set up safety to suicide based on someone flicking the wrong switch or spilling coffee at any point between you and the server. In the former logging off in a bubble completely defeats the log off trap component. |

These particulars you mention seem to merit scrutiny.
