What are the different benefits from using the differnt like drones and in what situations. If anyone has a linkage to a Drone Guide or smilar that would be just as good.

Scout drones do the least damage but are also the smallest (fit more in).
Medium scout drones (hammerhead, acolyte, etc) take up twice as much space but are generally better all around.
Drones will never wtfpwn unless you get thier skills up: Drone lvl 5 drone interfacing lvl3-5 combat drone 4-5

Light drones are the fastest, do the least damage, and are most able to track fast moving targets. They're great against Interceptors and such. They die the easiest, of course.
Medium drones are probably the best all rounders; they still track fast enough and move fast enough to damage most small, fast ships, whilst doing more damage than light drones and being more survivable.
Heavy drones do the most damage of course, and situation dependant, are able to track and hit smaller ships (particularly with help, such as a webber). They're also pretty tough to kill comparatively, with good skills.
Hope that explains it a bit better than the previous post.

Yeah ok.
What about just using light drones, for a begginer that is all they might be able to use. Which of the Light Scout drones are better? And how do you determin this?

All light drone's are basically the same. So better is not really a good term to use.
Now Having said that there are diffrence's in there type of damage just like ammo and missles. So you would want to pick a set of drones that would work best against what you are fighting.

Hunt around on the forum for Amarrian Android's drone guide. It might be a little dated now but I think it's a very good treatment of the drone subject and will answer all your questions about the merits of different types, and lots of other things too.
Good guide.

light drones can rip it up on most frigates, at least vs NPC's, theres very observable distinctions between how "heavy" the enemy frigs are, some are far faster and pretty much NEED the light drones, some are heavier and are more effective to kill with mediums... same with cruisrs and medium drones vs heavy drones.
but, I concur that your most generalized wide use ones are the mediums, insane against some frigs, ok against most, not so great on BC's or BS's, but great against destroyers and quite good against some cruisers.
