I have once found a blog where every pirate had drone type assigned to, which was the best against them.
For example Amarr drones against angels etc.
Does anyone have this table? |

There exist several tables.
Here is one nice overview from a German site: Damage Table
Another one from Wiki: Damage Types
Sorry for double post, my browser Shows me the error message: "There was an issue with parsing this post's BBCode" at my first. |

This is my personal favorite:

I just use hobs/hammerheads for everything.
I only need them to bust frigates/destroyers anyway, and the gallente drones do the highest damage.
plus, I don't think any pirate rats are particularly hardened against thermal damage, although I could be wrong.... |

A major factor is drone movement speed (for mobile drones) and tracking (for sentries).
Gallente mobile drones do so much damage that against most enemies they are the best choice, except for the fact that they move so much slower than other drones that a Minmatar drone might have killed the target before the Gallente one even gets to it.
For sentries, range is the key factor as to which one you use, almost always regardless of target resists. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. I guess you are right for mission running drone boats, I'm a miner, speed doesn't really matter to me, dmg output is the most important for me. |

never use amarr i just locked an open door.. strange, yet symbolically compelling. |

If you mine in high sec, players (including me) are much more of a threat to you than NPCs will ever be. Read up on our tactics for ganking at www.minerbumping.com and think of ways to protect yourself. For protection from rats, one single damage drone of any type is sufficient.
In low sec, a procurer with a flight of five medium skilled tech 2 light drones will work. Any race's drones are fine, I personally would use Warrior IIs as they are the best at protecting you from players in Interceptors. For protection from hostile players in ships other than Interceptors, you should always be aligned to a celestial whenever you are not alone in local, and always watching D-scan like a hawk. Have a full set of ECM drones handy too if you can fit them in your ship.
If you get into mining in null or WH, you will have friends handling security. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. Actually, if you're just looking to avoid hisec ganks, the trick is simple:
1) Stick to 1.0 and 0.9 systems. Rats don't spawn there, and the CONCORD response time is the fastest.
2) Load up on ECM drones.
How it works: They fire one shot at you. ECM drones jam them for 20 seconds. CONCORD kills them in 10.
Though the chances of an ECM drone breaking a ganker's lock is slim, the mere fact that it could happen means that there is a random variable that might actually screw up their little "I win" button. Since gankers can't stand the thought of real risk they will probably ignore you. Nullsec in a Nutshell: http://nedroid.com/comics/2006-08-24-2155-arrrdino.gif |

Please leave 1.0 and 0.9 space to the actual very, very new players to learn the interface of the game in.
While the ECM drone advice is good we can definitely counter it (fleet up with a rookie ship, rookie ship shoots first, getting ECM drone aggro, then the real gank ship(s) shoot a second later).
But I cannot stand it when people in exhumer fleets go into the rookie systems and mine out all of the belts, causing new players to have to go several jumps to find a belt to do their training missions in. Mining is competition for resources, and hence is a form of PVP, and PVPing brand new players with overwhelming force (your Orca boosted Hulk fleet to their Venture) is just dirty. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. FWIW, I will mine in a rookie system, but I will leave asteroids / belts. Rookie ships and Ventures will never clear a belt by downtime respawn. My favorite rookie system usually has 3 people in local.
I also keep a ship scanner handy to make sure that Venture is really there to mine |

In other words, you are mining in deadspace which isn't competing for resources with (most) newbies, and you protect yourself by actively playing.
You should give the OP tips on how to do that. I always say that we in the New Order don't really have the tools to catch anyone that is vigilant and doesn't want to be caught (not without exceptional wastage, at least, like using suicide Interceptors). https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content.
