Some of the Eve music I remember from the game doesn't play anymore, ever, for some reason. For instance my favorite tune from the entire game (On this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEEmORyxpho go to 9:25 into the video) hasn't played in Eve for me since August. Why is this? Is it because i'm not in the area that I used to be in when that music played? Really wish I could hear all of the music. :( |

Due to the little time I spend in high-sec I cannot confirm if it doesn't play anymore, on that note, the soundtrack is dependent on the sec of the systems you frequent. If you spend most of your time in high-sec you would be likely to hear a track like that, if in low you would hear a more ominous soundtrack (including some new ones,) while in null you just hear some bizarre looping sound effects. |

That's how it's supposed to work and sure, there is a difference between high, low, null and wormholes, but the last three (including spacewhales) don't really count as music. More importantly there are no differences between high sec regions - they all cycle the same five or six monotonous tracks.
What happened to the rest of Real-X's work? I would expect to hear "Theme from Jita" or maybe "Merchants, Looters and Ghosts" in Jita; "We Fight Proud for the Holder" in Amarr space; "Nouvelle Rouvenor Hero" in Luminaire, "Stellar Shadows" in New Eden; "Seven Clans" in Minmatar space. But no. The good tunes seem to be missing and there's no variety in what we have left.
The "sound cloud" is not a substitute - tabbing out to switch tracks every 5 minutes is not viable. |

There's a download button under each song, so just download all your favorite EVE tracks, disable music in game, and just que the songs on your music player of choice. Alternatively, they made a 7 hour compilation of all the tracks which you can play. |

Are you asleep now? Did you read the OP? This isn't about the questionable decision to remove the jukebox, this is about cutting the "soundscape" playlist. Hi-sec had more variety before Rubicon; now it has 5 or 6 tracks which are the same in every region. All the interesting tunes have disappeared.

Nope.
He clearly states "hasn't played in Eve for me since August" when he obviously must have finally noticed this.

Or faulty memory. They made changes to the sound system in Odyssey 1.1 (3 Sept) and in Rubicon 1.0 (19 Nov) so those are the most likely dates they screwed something up. I'm pretty sure the track he refers to was playing before Rubicon, but it's not one I listen out for. Personally I noticed the difference when Rubicon arrived. I've checked in the Forge, Citadel, Lonetrek, Domain, Tash Murkon, Verge, Sinq, Heimatar and Genesis: no variety whatsoever.
Easy test: Disable and re-enable the sound until it returns to the beginning of the music cycle. How many different tunes do you get: 7 or 70? |

Well, let me say that since the music has played, I spent about 2 months in 1.0 space because that was my corporation's HQ, and the music never played. We recently moved to 0.5 space (Like 2 weeks ago) and the exact same songs from the 1.0 system play here. The only music that plays for me is around 4 songs then it just starts over again. From what I remember there was a lot of songs in Eve, and I only get to hear 4 of them... |

I can confirm this.
When I joined 6 months ago I heard rouvenel hero or whatever that one is called.
I don't hear it anymore and even when I create a new character I don't hear it.
Same with this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J4H3o2om7c
And this one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbK4_fJDNos
This one was in there as well. One of the earliest but I think was linked to the highestsecurity systems.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v27nQKuaitY
I turn the sound on and of repeatedly while sitting in a 1.0 system and hear non of it. I remember it while sitting there mining and whatnot. It's sadly gone it seems. |
