Ie did the person actually CTD in combat. Would allow ppl to actually get compensated for when the server f's up not them or their system.
that is a great idea for CCP to cover there ASS's on the side when there servers just crap out... and people lose ships and stuff due to that...
but isp/player connection is a lot harder at least they can cover there side of the problem...
i would say that there are ways to know if a persons connection died or not... im sure you could look up the persons main server? that would be the isp's server... and if it died same time as the player did well... you konw it was the ISP and not the player just disconnecting
it should be easy enough yes no? i mean you ping player's IP and if it failes ping the players main server im sure that 3/4 times if the ISP screwed up then that server the player is on did as well...
How are you supposed to ping someone that is behind a firewall/(masquerade/nat)to see if their connection is up, how much traffic latency wouldn't this make? And most routers/firewalls that isp's have don't allow for icmp/ping packets or anything on their pipe to the internet.
hmm there are ways... once you establish a connection... meaning the player connected to the server... then the server can ping the client... and im sure they could ping the isp's server or whatever that provides your connection... this data is public and you can trace them etc...
have you ever used those programs?? ya you can get other peoples isp's server pretty much... and know the location of that server but thats about it...
what does being behind fire wall have to do with pining when you established the connection? support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

im not 100% sure but hmm if everything is behind firewalls and routers then how do DOS attacks happen i think you can ping stuff but i think you might be thinking of other stuff that the firewall/router does that doesnt let others do... but ping is very simple... and im more then sure that once a connection is established that the server can ping you...
but im not sure about this and i could be wrong... support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

Don't think Thukker mix is necessarily a bug. It has been that way since beta, and having some of their factories all over Minmatar space doesn't necessarily preclude that they'd be a pirate faction. I think it's stupid that they're all over the place in your republic, sure, especially when the backstory specifically states the Thukker have moved out. This is probably just lousy dev thinking.
The website is definitely a bug -- it lists me as having drone interfacing 1 but I know that I have launched and controlled 7 drones in combat before. So don't worry about that.

Don't think just because something has been some way since beta, that it's meant to be. It just means bug reports ain't getting to the devs. ------------------------------------------- If you kill them, they will die!
