The operation in EC is quite impressive. But I really have to notice that with statements like this you take all the credit for BOB "forgetting" the other alliances that are there with you.
PS: BOB and friends, dont bother to answer, I'm a brain dead, a retard, and I'm here to make you laugh

To much NAPs, to less "hate" and passion (both ingame i mean), to less territorial conflict on smaller base, to much work has to be done to get foothold into a system or even capture a station. To much outposts, only stagnation cause ppl build fortresses all over their space now. and this will only get worse...

First of all, I really don't understand why the attack on EC-P8R is causing so much hate on the forums. There are at least five threads surrounding the recent events that are closed by now. Embarrassing. We are all witnessing a truely historic moment not just for EVE but for MMORPG's in general. A totally player-driven war on such a scale could only have happened in EVE. Although right now we as TRUST are degraded to spectators and are mostly condemned to view history being written in front of us, I am nothing but thrilled to be at the very heart of it. I just wish I had a clearer view through all those bubbles.
I don't think I am telling too much if I say that we knew for quite a while that this attack would come. But when I entered the game friday evening I couldn't believe my eyes. The sheer numbers were absolutely impressive. I have nothing but respect for the attacking parties for pulling this off and the cold professionalism with which this operation is executed. The organization and logistics behind this is something I thought only we could handle. I regard it a great honour to TRUST and all defenders of EC-P8R that some of the biggest alliances in EVE had to unite to have the heart to do this.
About the future of TRUST. Will this operation cripple TRUST as some were saying? No f***ing way It is definetly binding resources that would better be used elsewhere and we could certainly better live without that invasion, but it doesn't even seriously hurt our business. We continue to make ISK even while this war is still going on. It also doesn't even seriously hurt the capital ship production branch. We will continue to provide our customers with capital ships, be it G, IRON, BoB, The Five or anybody else who has the pockets for it. We will definetly have to have an internal debate about our political position but that's about the biggest effect this will have on TRUST.
This may all have sounded a bit positive. Don't get me wrong. It was really depressing to see how one after the other POS was falling without us being able to do anything about it. The outpost may not play such an important role for our production and our overall business but of course I am feeling quite emotionally attached to it. And yes, my heart was bleeding during the weekend and I killed a kitten just to do anything. We all know that EVE can be very cruel. But isn't it, among other things, the cruelty that we all love so much about this game? This time we may end up on the loosing side but EVE goes on and TRUST will get even stronger! Should we really loose the outpost, we couldn't have lost it in a better and more spectacular way. It is exactly such events that truely set apart EVE and that make me keep playing it!
Respect for a well thought out, realistic, and not bitter approach to the situation TRUST is in.

I even wonder about the efficiency of this kind of operation, mobilizing 100 people for 50 hours in a row "cost" 100B at the very least. I seriously doubt the damage inflicted to Trust during this weeked amount to anything close to the cost of deploying such a huge fleet. Actually if a group sized a tenth of the blob fleet ran mission in empire while their station was besieged that would have make up for the Trust loss from a ISK point of view.
From my point of view, this operation is the biggest waste of ressources ever in Eve, did any alliance ever wasted litteraly thousands of hours of "work" (the difference between bringing a 200 fleet compared to 600 people fleet) to achieve so little ? destroying 10B of PoSes stuff ?

Seriously we had 160 in our IRON gang yesterday in EWOK. But 160 jumping into 400+ with 30 bubbles on each gate would be ... well stupid. We don't want to fight just to lose our ships to lag. If it had been 200 with 3 or 4 bubbles then by all means we wouldn't have hesitated.
The bob leaders have stated they specifically didnt want a fight they wanted to lock down the system and destroy the shipyards. Mission accomplished and well executed. All the whining and propaganda on both sides is unnecessary. They did what they set out to do and they did it well. Congrats Blacklight on a great job.
i have no idea why you quoted me but k thats what i meant ;s

It's a different game, wood. It's about empire building. The scale has gotten crazy. You still have groups running around just randomly ganking stront (lol) and they find that "fun", but alliance conflict is more about a hobby and not necessarily "fun".
For instance, a friend of mine is a model train nut. He spends WEEKS building these elaborate towns to run his trains around in circles on. I certainly don't get it, and when I asked him if it was "fun", he said... 'I think at the end it's fun, but only out of satisfaction for what I've done.'
It's a different mentality, a more serious mentality. I play BF2 for fun. I invest time in Eve for different reasons. Sure, it's fun and quite exciting at times, it's also dreadfully boring and painful other times. But it's all /for/ something. Yes yes, even though the something is imaginary, and only pixels blah blah blah. But the point stands.
There are so many games you can play for a couple of hours and have "fun" at, but there are very few games that you can really try and /do/ something.
Think of it more like a hobby then a game and I think it makes more sense.
