Or did you not forget about the switch to lead free metals because some legislator couldn't be bothered to exclude miniatures from the lead ban thus raising mini prices grrrrrrr?
Now we have 3d printed plastics and fancy-schmancy polymerthingies. The heck with this. I'm going to go whittle a Raven out of a piece of wood from a real tree (not one of those mineycrafty block trees either!.)

What resolution was this printed at? What was your X/Y travel speed when doing the perimeters? Did you do an infill? Is this ABS or PLA? Was it printed with support material? I would love to get a 3D scan of my Collector's Edition Rifter and 3D print it out. While I absolutely love the paint job on it, it feels too flimsy to actually use, I fear I will break it. So I'd love to have a model available that would let me print a more durable copy (and maybe use some metal rods or something for the poky bits). If someone hypothetically did make such a model file and published it, would they have CCP's blessing? Little Things to improve GëíGïüGëí-á| My Little Things posts |

TriExporter should be able to pull the model for any ship in the game into a format you can use in 3D software. You may need to convert it to a different format to make it something suitable for your 3D-printing software though. |

Oh, and on a side note, an acetone vapour bath will help smooth the edges. Basically, small amount of acetone in a large jar, place a stand in jar, put part on stand, place jar on a hot plate, heat jar. It comes out beautifully.

This picture shows the differance beautifully.

Really Cool
Would love to have one of those 3D printers,
I have come across this recently, which shows a lot of promise as well as being free textures for printers.
First link is for a Cynabal that has been printed in modular fashion as discussed earlier.
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=warning&l=http%3a%2f%2fwww.thingiverse.com%2fthing%3a107450&domain=thingiverse.com
The second link is for the selection of Ship and Drone files already made ready for printing.
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=warning&l=http%3a%2f%2fwww.yeggi.com%2fq%2feve%2bonline%2f&domain=yeggi.com
Looks rather interesting to say the least.

We used the makerbot software, This is ABS with support, resulotion was 0.20 mm. No slicing program was used just the good old slicing knife. Angle:45 deg and 3 layer surface.
Also thank you for all the ideas and the support, there will be more ships for sure, the models are exported from cinema 4d to stl format,, because the printing software uses that format.
@Quantus and Dkeh Weis: Yes, if you look at the Daredevil it was made with the acetone vapour bath, but the acetone was low quality, now waiting for industrial grade acetone and we will give another try.
If you see somewhere Quin Narim and want to know more about tech specifics, pm him, he is the owner of the printer and the model |

Games Workshop may start shaking in their boots soon.
Find a game system you and your friends like, create your own models then place them on the table and start rolling die.
I may be a little over zealous and full of wishful thinking, but 3D printing is going to change things either way.
