First of all, why are some systems ALWAYS geting stuck? It is not hard to see the same systems stuck every week!!
What is the cause of this? Probably because they are systems where many people go or pass by everyday... SO WHAT!!!! Does it mean that if you want to play the game you'll have to stay forever in a remote system without much trafic??
I know one thing for sure. The ones responsable for these issues should work harder on it, instead of trying to figure out new insignificant changes on patches (that never come out by the way), and when I say this I refer to changing things that already work just because somebody does not like it. Get serious!!
(This post is probably going to get locked... but it is the truth)

good point and i have to agree whats the point of paying if they makes little changes to weapons and other stuff thats not perfect but works fine, and yet they dont take the time to fix the systems like amarr that is stuck every weekend im stuck right now its really a hassle to pay so i cant play on weekends

It's a joke to ask us to avoid the main hub systems like Yulai and Amarr.
They should work on fixing these types of things rather than screwing around with things that are not broken.

I've went through Yulai twice in the past hour. Don't know what the problem is.

Funny..
I was in the Help Channel when a Polaris guy came on asking which systems cause the most problems.. He forgot to say "are causing" so alot of people said Yulai, as it tends to cause problems and has caused alot of problems in the past. About ten minutes later there was that message about Yulai being stuck..
I logged on to an alt just to see.. And sure enough, Yulai is not stuck.

Edited by: Arathmon on 15/09/2003 02:24:22 Umm... you kind of contradict yourself in there. When you say:

The ones responsible for these issues don't work on the kind of things that you really see in the new patches. They're the ones that fix server stability and lag issues. They're the unsung heroes (or unknown martyrs, not my call there) of Eve.
As to having them work harder on it... maybe stress on the forum servers is hindering their work, so it could be that unconstructive posts/threads like this are to blame.
Whichever way you go, the answer is far from simple. --------------- I used to be in the FA. I like cookies. Eve Radio is teh pwn. |

On the other hand, its neighbor Amarr most definately is. (two corpmates stuck there)
And supposedly people ARE getting stuck in Yulai now. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

One would have thought that requiring a credit card would have made for a more mature player base. Obviously the whinner who started this thread took mommy's credit card. So your stuck, big deal. They are working on it. If you took the time to read the ******* forums instead of *****ing then you would see what they are doing. They upgraded the server code for more stability and are now doing the client code. Stop being so impatient. $13 a month is nothing. I can't even buy a cheap dinner for that.

No I did not use mommy's credit card...
Don't give me that "mature player base" crap.
Weekends are the only time I have to play because I work during the week (you know that magical thing you do to pay your bills...), so yes I am complaining, and I have the right to do so!!
If there weren't such problems in the first place, the forum would not have "lame threads" as this one!! I much rather spend time in game than writing on the forums.
I'm still stuck and I'll be able to play only on the next weekend. If you have time to spare doing nothing during the week it doesn't matter, and I would agree with you.. "big deal". unfortunaly that is not the case.

It is a valid complaint that has been a problem in the game for some time now I am sure the GMĘs are sick of it. They get petitions like crazy. The real questions is why is it when there is a load placed on the servers or databases or whatever it mite be that controls this does it crash and leave many so that can not play the game?
What is being done to correct it? When may it be repaired? How many customers are going to be lost buy it not being repaired is the real disturbing question.

While having hub systems go down constantly is extremely annoying you have to take into account that this is CCP's first major game and they are learning what they need to run the servers properly. I beleive I read that they are still upgrading the servers with things that will sure up the load bearing systems, but ,like all things, it will take time. Now if this **** was happening on EQ, heads would roll.

general rule of thumb is when that server number hits the 5000 mark you can bet ur arse that the main hubs are going to start locking up like an old rusty safe. so do yourself and a favor and maybe check with an alt first? could save u a few hours... adapt, dont whine. nothing is perfect...
and yes i know "this is not what you paid for". but you know i go to jack in the box and i see the spicy chicken sandwhich, get all ready to sink my teeth into that thing, and it does not look the same at ALL when i get it. but its still good...

When you get stuck jumping, wait. Clear your cache, start the game, and wait. Sometimes you have to wait a long time, but you will get unstuck. Or well, at least I get.
I have got stuck once. Only one single time in retail, and I have played over 5 hours a day since day one. And that time I didn't even try the things I normally try to get unstuck, I just waited for the downtime. Everytime I get a blackscreen I just clear the cache. Sometimes that works. If it doesn't, it's often only lag. And then everything I have to do is wait, and everything gets fine again after a couple of minutes.
Offcourse I can mainly thank the fact that I don't visit a system if I get a warning about it
This is my signature. |
