Are you using the repair tool from the launcher settings menu? If so try using the one from your EVE folder.
IN the launcher under the patch tab is a setting to delete the patch after applying. If you uncheck this option the patch is saved and could be passed around and imported into your friends computer saving dozens of download attempts.
How about the download number of threads option? Thats like a torrent. Some countries don't like torrents, try a single thread.
Have you tried throttling? Once again Some places don't like sustained high volume transfers. To some downloads of our size at highspeed might look like possible video piracy streams. try cutting it down to a third of your bandwidth.
How are your countries relations with Iceland and England? If there are tensions your problem may be political and might be solved by proxying thru a server in a neutral country. |

You know there's a load of 'chaff' sitting in your User's %APPDATALOCAL% sub folders right?
I've had that go mental and lose it's access control list. Caused all sorts of mischief. Fixed by Deleting the CCP stuff and having the game 'recreate' it all for me.
You didn't mention it expressly, so I'm adding it to your ever increasing "Have you tried turning it off and back on?' check list *signature is not allowed on the EVE Online forums* |

No problem with launcher so far at my end. In fact, I haven't had any problems since its introduction.
Have you tried it to turn it of and on again? . |

Another day, another patch....
version 2.1.655130
The third patch in 3 days. I understand the desire to keep pushing stuff out CCP, but version control like that is terrible.
That outsourced testing team running regression tests every day on the new version too? |

So far i only have had one issue with the launcher , however i know a LOT of eve friends who do have issues with it.So i can see where the OP is coming from .

Except the fact many people are not having any issue at all means the launcher is not a mass of ****** code or it would behave like a POS in every install. It's probably picky about something and noone found what exactly yet. |

Todays patch removed all of my usernames, which is a pain as I have a hell of a lot, but I've been expecting it a while as a few people have reported it in Issues & Workarounds. In all honesty you only have to look at the first few pages of that forum to see that there are lots of people experiencing launcher issues and it's been going on for months.
Like the OP, I've had loads of problems myself with the new launcher and it's maddening to keep trying different fixes. Having said that my PC & router died last week, so some of it is hardware/software issues at my end. If its only stable on systems running at optimal (which I doubt the majority of users are) it needs further testing. When any new implementation is made with the potential to affect such a large number of users, it might be worth doing follow up surveys to see how many people are reporting problems, rather than just wait for petitions and forum reports. - |

It has worked nearly flawlessly for me. I've only ever really had one problem, but it seems a bit symptomatic of what I think people are suffering from. It basically seems to forget (or not care about) some of its own settings GÇö in my case, it simply refuses to remember more than one login at a time. If I wipe its settings, it'll remember the next login name until the end of time, but no other.
It wouldn't surprise me if this setting-forgetting thing can make it stumble over its own threaded downloads, for instance, and end up with missing or duplicate parts, leading to broken patches and installs. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

I'm not sure if its stumbling on verifying the installed client or the downloaded patch. All my suggestions were for a corrupted patch I guess. |

So the real issue is that you lot run PCs, no that there's anything wrong with the launcher. |

Quote: Since the patch way back mid November 2013 last year the game launcher always fails to update in our place and we have no option but to re download and re-install the game over and over again cause the game does not patch itself, or if it did it end up crashing.
You are doing things wrong.
Quote:my question to EVE why did they addopt this game launcher which i think come from 3rd party steam if im not mistaken which makes a lot of problem for some players.
It had nothing to do with Steam. |

After thinking about this more, I see two main probable causes.
Either a localization / ISP issue.
OR
A software conflict.
As you have tried this on multiple OS and hardware setups, I am more inclined to go with localization / ISP.
Just for the sake of thoroughness, try setting your UAC (user account controls) to "Never notify me". Eve will make you work a solid month all on your own for your first cookie. Then kick you in the nuts and take that cookie, and laugh at you for thinking you could have a cookie at all. |

Mario Putzo wrote:What the hell do people do to their ****? I have never once had an issue with the launcher.
what i did couple days ago was log off before the server went down. That did soemthing bad, when i tried to log back in my launcher turned half black and froze, upon reloading the launcher it went into not responding mode. It remained broken in such an utterly inoperable state for a few days untill the client launched via the exefile pulled a launcher update patch which fixed the not responding issue.
So tell me, what did i do wrong? and how did i contact ccp via my exefile that i needed an update to fix my client, if i had puposefully broken it? doesnt makes sense to me, seems like one of the minipatches lately broke the launcher, and a few days later a fix was released.
Also the repair tool is rubbish, everytime something has gone wrong with soemthing eve related, the repair tool fails and returns an error. Always after it goes through the checking, and the downloading and the initializing and all that, it gets to the tail end, stops, breaks and delivers an error.
When the launcher is working though all seems fine and dandy. its just when it does break, its pretty spectacular |

Mario Putzo wrote:What the hell do people do to their ****? I have never once had an issue with the launcher. Nothing. It just stopped working after an update in september last year. I didn't do anything. Repair tool went mad with the same update. Eventually my 64 Bit Windows 7 was considered an unsupported 16 bit platform by the launcher.
While support tried to be helpful, I had to download a new client in the end to at least be able to login again via exefile.exe.
Three weeks later with another patch all problems were gone just as miraculously as they appeared.
The things I learned from this:
- CCP breaks the launcher now and then for some folks.
- They do communicate **** about it and petitioning it is the only way to get any decent help. Issues & Workarounds is mostly helpless, though it's good to know you are not alone .
- They do react pretty fast to these petitions but they do not tell you what's going on.
While they usually are pretty communicative concerning game development in general, the launcher team seem to be Ghostcrawler fans.
Edit:
If the launcher fails, the repair tool usually is broken too. This is what I expeirenced myself and have observed for quite a few other players coming to the forums for help.
So it's always a good idea to download a fresh client every other patch just in case... Remove insurance. |

Usernames wiped again today after patch. Really, at this point I'm not even interested in an explanation. Just let us know when you acknowledge/fix it. It's a bad launcher. STFO.

As soon as you have more than one character to do this on it gets reeeeeeally fiddly.
I'm not talking about it being hard, it's just annoying and you have to do it every time. Thousand papercuts, you know =p |
