Maybe the descriptions are wrong but all sizes of the ECM drone show they do +1 to each racial.
If that is true what is the point of carrying heavies or mediums if you can have more smaller drones of that nature and they have higher speeds/lower signature radius. Dont just complain, do something. Channel macrointel meet with likeminded folks, spottings, intel |

no check again. lights 1, meds 1.5 and heavies 2 to all sensors jamming strength.

You're probably looking at their sensor strength not the jam strength. _______________ |

Well I just got through doing some testing on the wasp heavy ECM drones.
And I can say with resonably assuredness that they aren't worth the mins to build them
The test was scorp vs scorp.
First i had one wasp ECM on my corpmate. After 7 mins we gave up. It did absolutley nothing in the entire time frame.
Next i fitted 3, and repeated the test. Again nothing, for 5 mins
Repeated both tests with a T2 painter, just for grins, nothing. So we thought maybe they work in conjuntcion with a jammer, so i fitted a special destab, and the 3 drones. I jammed her with the SD on first try, so waited for it to cycle off a jam. When this happened I sent in the 3 drones, w/ the spacial and it appeared that they added nothing what so ever. When the SD did cycle a jam, she hit her backup which burned through, my SD, and all 3 drones.
Conclusion, ECM drones = useless.
Unless im missing something, they are newbe bait for the recycleing machine....

^^ Did you have them attacking?
My experiences with them have been that they are pretty devestating

The time you needed to write this post would have been enough to increase the omen's powergrid by 200. No?
Thank god, everyone (even tassi) has a caldari alt

If you mean, out of the drone bay, circling the target while the engage button is repeatably mashed, while watching the torps slam into my hull, id have to say yes, they were ordered to...
I saw absolutley no effect using them. Whats your secret?

really wouldn't expect to see much out of them in scorp v scorp, even more so if the 'victim' have eccm as well.
personally imagine them as useful for ship with limited mids against tacklers/smaller jamming ships. tbh though haven't used them yet - might though, seem like it might be the only way to get a jam on someone who have a jam on you as long as you have them out/assigned prior to being jammed.
but vs caldari, would definately believe in their uselessness. __ Weirda Assault Ship need 4th Bonus and More! |

Was considering using these with a Raven setup for amusement, and I began to wonder: Is five at 1.5 better than three at 2 jam strength for jamming?
Against the Megathrons 21 sensor strength:
3x 2 strength ECM Drones:
P(Jam) = [(0.095) + (0.095) + (0.095)] - [(0.095)^3] P(Jam) = [0.285] - [0.0008] P(Jam) = 0.285 -or- 28.5% Chance per Cycle <Cycle Time = 20 seconds>
5x 1.5 strength ECM Drones:
P(Jam2) = [(0.071) + (0.071) + (0.071) + (0.071) + (0.071)] - [(0.071)^5] P(Jam2) = [0.355] - [0.0000018] P(Jam2) = 0.355 -or- 35.5% Chance per Cycle <Cycle Time = 20 seconds>
------------------
So not only do the 5x medium ECM drones jam better for a Raven - you can also fit a few regular drones in as well for taking out enemy drones / frigates (5 light tech 2 drones for example).

don't forget that ECM doesnt' stack.
each drone has his own percentage of jamming. -------

each drone has his own percentage of jamming.
It's not stacking in that formula - that's the General Addition Rule for probability:
P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B)
In this case, it's the Probability of any one of the drones achieving a jam.

I dont know if I believe the stats sums you did (I'm sure your maths is fine)
When I had fights against a corpmates blasterthron and he used 5 light ECM drones on me I could literally get up and go for a cup of coffee before I could lock again.
I'd post the logs but if I did I'm sure I'd get suicidal again.

Think they've been broken a while ago, maybe it got fixed and brought down closer to what it should be o.O;
