Heh, that IS a bit wierd - looks almost like a funky layering issue of some kind. If there are any other programs running that use Direct heX and might be misbehaving, that could account for it.
On the other hand, I don't think that it really looks like a graphics card heat issue, so that's prolly good.
If you've updated graphics drivers or anything that might change the graphics card drivers lately, you'll REALLY wanna run something like "Driver Cleaner Pro" or similar. I mention DCP 'cause that's what I finally wound up having to use on any (re)install.
The two big core graphics driver peeps (ATI and NVidia) really need to figure out how to completely remove their old drivers when removing or updating... I've typically always had to use a proggie like this to get rid of old driver fragments unless I was clean installing windows and managed to abort having MS automatically pop in an ancient nvidia driver.

Thank you gor your thoughts gents. I did recently uppdate my drivers but EVE worked fine after that....untill now recently. My card is an old rubbish geo5200, no other programs were running in the background btw. I shall take a look at that driver cleaner pro.
