I've had a good couple of weeks using my trial access but that time is drawing to a close. I'm planning to try a couple of other online games (using free trials) before I decide which one to settle on. Therefore my question is: I will probably manage about 90 min's play before I have to stop. What should I go to see?
What will catch my imagination and fire me to return to Eve instead of City of Heroes (or Warcraft, Auto Assault....)?

New Eden has some very nice graphics (you can see the wormhole which humanity came to eve from). But the problem with eve is that it doesn't offer as many sudden thrills as other games. Its definatly a long term thing, and almost always is based on player interactions instead of content.

If you've only got 90 minutes, it's tricky; perhaps hang out in Dodixie / Auvergne and ask to tag along with some people running level 4 missions. You should also try to see 0.0 and large scale fleet combat before you go, but that's very hard to arrange. Much of what PvP has to offer is the experience, the rush of staking your ship on your skills.
Warp to a sun. See an interceptor at full speed. See attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
Maybe the best way of spending 90 minutes seeking to fire your imagination would be in the Videos forum; there's a great one of the battle for EC8-PR filmed from a distance in a covert ops.

Yes I have to say it might be a good idea to check out some of the videos in the relevent forum. In 90 mins you aren't likely to get much done at all really. EVE is a very long term game as been said, so doing anything requires you to work towards it, rather than just getting to a certain level and accessing some content.

You should go pirating. 90 minutes probably wont be enough though.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams ... glitter in the dark near Tanhauser Gate. All those ... moments will be lost ... in time, like tears ... in rain. Time ... to die.
90 mins left huh too bad. Most of what you want to see in EvE takes time. Hope you come back.

I think one of the most impressive thing I have seen so far was a huge convoy of 4 Obelisks, and an escort including some big arse ships...Battleships/Dreads perhaps? Those Obelisks are something else...

Edited by: Drizit on 13/04/2006 22:11:46 Use an alt and try to sneak into one of the 0.0 contested areas for a peek at a fleet battle. In 90 minites, if you don't make it the first time, you won't really have time to try again.

Damn you. You got me thinking now, I can even see the scene on a rainy rooftop after the big fight scene but I can't for the life of me remember the title of the film.
Edit: remember now - Blade Runner. --
