I think CCP should develop POS location beacons that could be deployed at a certain distance from the POS to warn those warping to the POS that they have ventured into controlled space that is not theirs and that if they do not depart immediately they will be fired upon.
The Warning Beacon would last for a month before needing to be replaced. The Warning Beacon would alert the POS owner or so delegated person that a ship or ships had shown up on the perimeter of the POS. The message would be very simple and would contain the type of ship or ships and number of ship or ships present and at which Warning Beacon location
The Warning Beacon could be attacked and would be able to be taken out by a modestly fitted T1 Frigate. If the Warning Beacon is attacked in High Sector the pilot would receive a security status hit as well as being paid a visit by Concord.
The Warning Beacon would also create a de - cloaking field for the T2 variant would de-cloak any cloaked ship that came within a 5, 10 or 20k meter distance from the Warning Beacon to investigate the perimeter of the POS. |

A: It's useless.
B: Of all the uses of cloaking that would be health to EVE to reduce the effectiveness, the ability to have cloaked scout eyes on a POS is not one of them.
TLDR: You don't like cloaking. The warning would be utterly useless because everyone assumes by default that the POS will blap them without needing a warning first. |

I have never personally come across a POS outside of HS that didn't shoot first/ask questions later.
On alerting the POS owner... no. The hell would you want to do that for. So you're mad that somebombers came by and bombed a cluster of your guns or something, and when you came back to your POS they had a little damage on them. Just get in a guardian and fix them.
Also no Decloaking. Cause then how can bombers be effective around POSes for scouting and such. |

A POS is my home why would I want to even allow a thief to get close? If I can scare them away with advanced systems then I would I do so. |

If it does not shoot you, scram you, web you, decloak you unless you headbutt it, or notify the owner as long as you are cloaked, then it is useless.
Unless you think it should have the ability to notify the owner of who is on grid with the POS in a cloaked ship, in which case the answer is no ******* way. |

Because he literally can't do anything to you other than watch you. Now if you have a problem with people being close, grab a couple buddies and some fast tackle frigs, have a couple cruisers assist you drones, and fly aroudn for a bit where you think they are. That or fire off a couple smartbombs or bomber bombs (now that I think about it they really shoudl change the name of 1 of those, cause both are shortened to bombs). If you kill him, hey you win. Pat yourself on the back and get back to anoming. If you don't kill anything, hey maybe there was noone there. Or they were stealthier than you thought.
