I hear that a change to the warp effect is on the way, so I thought I'd mention that the deceleration from maximum speed is twice as long as the speedup (nearly twenty seconds), and do you think we could get that tweaked so it's the same time as the acceleration? (roughly just under ten seconds). |

I hope they buff ceptors. I hate the 20 seconds it takes to hit max warp. |

It would be interesting for them to change it so that ship mass affects the speed with which you enter and exit warp. Frigate hulls could pretty much zip in and out of warp while battleships could take as long as it does currently. |

That's a great idea actually. I think top speeds are fine, it's just the getting to and from there in warp that'd be great to improve like this. |

IIRC, part of the reason ships don't 'snap' out of warp is because they need time to load the grid before they can start doing things, or being targeted.
That said, there is a loooong time between beginning the deceleration from maximum warp speed and appearing on grid. I'm sure there's the capability to make warp acceleration and deceleration much quicker.
Give us flashier warp effects, CCP! Like that cool EMP-type pulse from the warp drives in the EVE Is Real vid. And bright flashes from ships as they arrive on grid. |

Yeah I had thought about that loading issue, but as you say, a lot of the deceleration happens before you even get to the grid. So unless it's a major technical hurdle, reducing the decel time from 20 seconds to 8-10 seconds (that's the acceleration time) is something we'd like to see!
And yes, better effects! Give it a real visual punch as you hit warp, and maybe a nice deep bass sound to imply tremendous engines bending the very fabric of reality as the engines kick in. Kapow! |

Aye, or at least make long point ceptors bar none the fastest ships in eve.

I want it startrek style, that "punching" warp effect, where there's a little buildup in the engines and then BAM from 0 to 100 in a split second. Dropping out should work the same way. |

Yeah I'd love to see that too, but I'd settle for 50% faster accel/decel over current times. |

It's pretty simple. Just take the align-time and use this for acceleration/deceleration. This way changing the setup would impact all three (align time, time until max speed, time until warp exit) by the same amount.

On one hand eye candy is good, on the other, all those flashes could get old real fast with all the warping that we do.

That's a valid concern, and I think part of the reason the new cyno effect is a little restrained. Putting in any effect for starting to move through the warp bubble would be nice tho, even if it is subtle. |

The warp now seems to be quite jerky, e.g. to shutters in-flight

I support this - why does the de/accelerating always takes so long and the same for every ship?
My Malediction flies 1-3 seconds at max warp speed when travelling between systems, the rest is 1 minute of aligning and acceleration/deceleration. It's tedious. |

What's the matter Colonel Sanders? Chicken?
If we are talking about warp exit effects. I would love to have the thunderous clap and whine down similar to Star Trek 2009. |
