I've tried eve-search.com, but haven't been able to find anything too helpful. Can someone briefly outline for me, or point to a list of skills (assuming complete noobness) needed to NPC effectively in a Raven? BTW, I'm guessing that cruises are the best choice, ISK/Hr.-wise right?

other skillls
Electronics upgrades 4 (for a co-pro 2) Weapons upgrades 1 + Gunnery 2 (for ballistic control mods) Science 1 for power diagnostic systems.
In my past times fighting guristas NPCs in 0.0 these skills have been more than capable of killing any belt spawn.

Also, How quickly do your skills let you take BS spawns down? Do you have a good sense of your ISK/time ratio?

well looking at my journal for last night I made 9 million in one hour. That was just on bountys not including any loot.
The problem I find is the income is limited because of the lack of NPC battleships where I am, 2 jumps from empire the spawns range from no battleships to single 500k ones and double 950k ones is the biggest ive seen.
Deeper out into 0.0 you will find systems with double and triple battleship spawns in each belt and hence make more money. lotka.org/sigs/bulletproof.jpg"][/img]

Ive always had some problems tanking in a Raven, even with 4 invulnerabilitys fields. shield just drains like a bad ass on some missions. Will have to try ratting in 0.0 space
the set up i use jsut now for lv 3 missions is 2 heavy,4 assault,1 large ion, 1 small tactor beam
1 large shield booster, 2 invulneralbility fields,3 large shield extenders
2 ballistics,1 warp stabilizer,2 PDU's
Gai: "Lee!!" Lee: "Sensei!!" Gai: "Lee!!" Lee: "Sensei!!" (hugs and sunset and beautiful waves)

well 0.0 belt NPCs only do 2 types of damage (not including angels, they do 4)
so I use 6x arbalest siege (they come down alot in price)
100mn AB, XL booster, shield boost amp, 3 hardeners
CPU2, 2x power diagnostic, 2x ballistic control.
6 med drones.
Ive used this setup for ages and could probably improve it but Ive not found any spawn I cant kill so seems pointless changing it. lotka.org/sigs/bulletproof.jpg"][/img]

Edited by: Jingsuei on 19/04/2006 18:27:31 So, is that torps or cruise missiles that I should aim for? Which are most effective to NPC with? Is the difference between them kinda like blasters and rails?

Cruise missiles with base skill have a flight time of 20 seconds at 3750ms for a maximum range of 75km. The explosive radius is 300 metres at 500m/s. They have a maximum HP of 300 for their particular damage type.
Torps at base skill have a flight time of 30 seconds at 1250m/s for a max range of 37.5 k. The explosive radius is 400m at 250m/s. They do, however have a max HP of 450
Cruise missiles are obviously better for more distant targets or against smaller, faster ships like frigates or cruisers, although I use drones on frigs. Torps are a better choice for close in larger targets.
Obviously other skills come into play, such as the missile skill which increases the damage per level, missile bombardment which increases a missile flight time by 10% per level, projection which increases the velocity by 10% per level, target navigation, which negates the effect of some of the targets speed on the damage given, weapons upgrade which increases the damage by 2% per level.
Then you also have the tech II missiles which either sacrifice small ship damage for increased large ship damage or precision missiles which lose some speed and therefore range but are more effective against smaller ships.
Add to that modules such as target painters and ballistic control systems both of which help increase the lethality of missiles and things can start getting very complex indeed.
For a good explanation of how it all comes together have a look at http://www.eve-online.com/guide/en/g27.asp
