...should spend less money on gold plating and more money on decent engines.

Thank you. I still donĘt get it, why Raven is 8 million tonnes more than Apoc and Scorpion weighs even more than a Raven. No one ever explained it to me.
I am actually being serious, can someone explain the logic behind making Caldari ships the slowest and the least agile in EVE, if anything it should be Amarr with all their gloriously hulking metal monstrosities and Holy Empire stuff.

Because amarr ships don't have to carry small powerstations to power our shields

Are you telling me that we dont have technology in EVE that would allow Caldari ships to fit anything but a Chernobyl Atomic plant?
Anyway, if anyone knows the real reason why Caldari ships are least agile in EVE I would like to know.

Balance afaik. Has been said before that Caldari got a bit of a nerf in that general direction back when missiles were uber.
Maybe now missiles have been brought more in line with the limitations turret users face (and now drones too for that matter) maybe they could look at the agility thing again?
Thats the problem with nerfing things though - once you've knocked somethings back to the stone age it's hard to buff it up again with drawing even more complaints.

Yeah I always thought Raven was the most compact (Tier 2) battleship and would naturally be more agile. Isn't the Dominix the biggest in the game?
Here's how I figured it'd go
Minmatar - obviously Caldari - lighter shield tanks Gallente - heavy armor tanking Amarr - armor + gold
But my friend's Raven can outrun my Brutix *cry*, He wouldn't stand a chance if I throw it in reverse ________________________________________________

Well, actually it would be nice if all the people who actually fly Caldari ships would voice this concern. Now that missiles have been ballanced I think devs should ballance the mass on the ships.

what would a more aerodynamic hull do in space which is a vacuum? i know it's not empty space, but far too little gas to need aerodynamics :)

In my raven, I have teams of ex-Minmatar slaves shoveling coal into the furnace. They work for very low wages, and they're low maintenance.

Probably because EVE space doesn't function as a vacuum. Still, you have a point.
It's believable that Caldari ships have a slower top speed due to the extra power requirements to keep the shield active. OTOH the whole point of having shields is so's not to bother with honking great armor plates ... so, who knows. I don't think it really makes all that much difference at the battleship level - a class which is, basically, large and slow, doesn't gain anything worthwhile from being slightly less slow. It's not as big an advantage as it is for the frigates. ________________________________________________
