As I heard from many people and as I experienced myself, this mission is somehow impossible or at least far too hard for a level 4 mission. I am referring to the second room of part 4. Where I could tank the first room (aggroed almost all groups) for about 5 minutes, i died almost instantly when warping into the second room. I had 2 large armor reppers running and 75%-86% resistances. Support ships wouldnt have helped as well, since i was dead before I could lock anything (took about 10-15 seconds).
IMO this second part is somehow bugged. It is impossible to tank it long enough with a BS, but someone has to do the tanking. Please correct me if someone managed that mission without ub3r-l33t equipment/ships. It is a level 4 mission, so it should have a appropriate dificulty.
CCP, please review that! null

Edited by: Sveldt on 15/04/2006 20:55:48 I've never had a problem w/ this mission beyond having to bring in a friend or two on part 1. On occasion I've had to warp out in the later stages, but part 1 is definately the most difficult.
This mission is not in need of a review...

I still need something cleared up about this mission, the part where you need to blow up the stargate and the large fleet spawns with high DPS. Is that fleet supposed to spawn everytime or only if you take too long to destroy the gate? The fleet im talking about melted my armor as if i were in a cruiser last time i tried it. The spawns that are there when you arrive were ok, managed them fine, its the guys that appeared just before the gate exploded that wtfpwn'd me. So again im just wondering if they are meant to appear everytime or just my bad luck.

Edited by: Gilail on 17/04/2006 19:29:14 Thats what i was talking about. It was impossible to survive, i got blown up in a few seconds. But in my case, it didnt take much time till this fleet arrived. The first spawn (dont know if there are more) targeted me and opened fire. I could tank them for about 3mins. But suddenly the DPS was greatly increased and my armor just went down like nothing. Thats how i lost the first ship. But ok, since i tanked them for a time this could have been my fault (too low skills or whatever). At the seconds time i warped in i didnt even have the time to do anything. I just managed to click my 2 large reppers and 10-15 second later i was in a cute little pod.
I dont know if thats a fair difficulty for a level 4 mission.

Ive done the lv4 version solo in a domi without even having hull upgrades @5, ie lv1 hardners. Aslong as you plan an attack instead of running in expecting you tank to hold out its easily doable, takes to long for the rewards though so i skip it these days.

ya i did this mission up to 4 of 5 I think. From what I heard and my experiance in the first parts of this mission it takes to long and "I" felt wasn't reward enough to do the 5 of 5.
But I was soloing this mission. I recall not having much of a tank problem just have to chose the right targets and not argo the hole group. My set up was all tank so I was not doing alot of damge but enought to kill all the BS's. Not sure what you did but if your resitances for EM, thiermal, and Kin where above 75% you should tank it fine. Remember its a joint effort with Ammar and Cal so they do the 3 damage types, unless yoru with anouther faction than I don;t know it is for you. My experiance with the stages and parts that I did was you just had to take your time. But in 5 of 5 it sounds like the quicker you do the easier it is... But I don;t know never done it .

Edited by: Raquaine on 18/04/2006 22:30:15 I agree stage 2 of part 4/5 seems impossibly hard - I have no problem soloing any of the other l4s but this one has much higher DPS than anything else I've seen - lost a Sleipnir with about 5K shield, 4xPDU 2, Large SB II, Invul Field II, other res boosters, Internal Force Field Array I and all resistances > 70% in about 40 seconds or thereabouts (I got warp scrambled). And NO - I didn't aggro anything. They all just immediately attacked...
Does that large fleet only turn up if you take too long on stage 1?
Another thing is that if you blow up you can't get back in - no key card anymore cos it's in your can! Bit of a major problem that.

I'm just curious: Is DPS in this mission (stage 2 of 4/5) comparable with DPS done on the bonus level of Angel Extravaganza (lvl4 agent)?
Thanks in advance for replies.

It is possible to solo all parts of this mission, I did it just the other day
My advice would be to use an EM active and two therm active, with a dual 650mm autocannon fitted battleship. Yes I was using a Machariel, but the fitting I was using would adapt to a Tempest

After accepting the mission you just have to do it 'quick'. Do not do lunch, wait for backup or something else after accepting.
If you wait to long a big fleet will spawn in the second pocket.
Know a few people who got killed in that pocket just because the waited to long. Once joined a friend of mine who accepted the mission some hours before. I did had a resistence near 90% for both primairy dmg-types in that missions. And still about 15 Mallers gave me 13K dmg/min (that's other excluded).
Not sure if there is any ship who can tank that.
If you waited to long, your a solution is to do the mission just after DT.

Edited by: Lorette on 25/05/2006 06:54:20 I found this mission very easy just extremely time consuming, the hardest part of the whole set was part 1, but as long as you draw the right ships out of the fleet you can finish that area with 1 ship with only 1 warpout. Part 4/5 i wondered what the fuss was all about
whoops already spouted my crap in this thread already , oh just a fyi if you clear every ship in the 5 parts you get ~125mill in tags ^^ not to bad.

This is the key thing, you have to kill that first room FAST, the reinforcements are on timers that start when you enter the first gate into the deadspace area. That means no collecting loot (bm it for later), no getting to long range (bs are slow).
I have done this mission 3 times now with corp mates and never seen the reinforcements at all. Two Raven's (one torp one cruise) and a Dominix set up as a logistic's ship. Enter first room, do not move, kill everything, run to the gate, jump, kill the (few) initial rats, kill the gate, run away.

I've soloed this in my Tempest.
As several people above have said you just need to get through it fast because the "reinforcement" spawns are on a timer. The people that are getting slaughtered are running into the 2nd reinforcement spawn from the gate. It has a bunch of gamma support frigates and Jakars (Apocs that do massive damage). If you go fast enough you can kill the gate before they spawn.

OK, so I finish part 3, and now when I strat part 4 I get the following when trying to warp in:
This gate is locked! To activate it, you need to have Imperial Navy Gate Permit in your cargo hold. By all signs it will not be consumed upon use, so the only problem is to locate the thing!
Erm... how do Ilocate the thing? Help please anyone. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It was supposed to drop in part 3 but the mission is bugged in that it usually doesn't, just send a petition to CCP and they will give you one.
