This works fairly well VS their main target (Frigates):
7 x 125mm railgun I 1 x Rocket launcher I
1 x Small Shieldbooster I 1 x Shield boost amplifier I 1 x Stasis Webifier I 1 x Warp scrambler I
1 x Tracking Enhancer/Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Load antimatter in the guns, EM rockets in the launcher. This, with decent gunnery skills, will give you an optimal a little below 10 km. Now, this is good, since we put a webifier and a short-range scrambler (-2) in there to keep the target slowed down and unable to warp (Rare case that a frigate will have 2 WCS fitted).
Now, the tank is ****, don't ask me how to improve on it, destroyers just arent meant for tanking. Every module can be swapped with a named or T2 counterpart. For the shield booster, I'd recommend this, since T2 tanking gear is MUCH more efficient than T1 or named.
Lock, gank, recharge shields, repeat. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Cascade للللللللiss NAVY |

there's 2 good, and 1 soso setups... 1: Use a Cruiser. More firepower, more survivability, more versatility... less "Shoot me, I'm fat" sign. 2: Use a Interdictor. More firepower, more survivability, more anti-frig pwnage, has the "Can't hit me! I'm fast!" sign instead. 3: Use a Frigate. More survivability, more versatility, less firepower, has the "Don't bother shooting me... I'm not worth the ammo." sign.
hope that helps...

Eeeh, T1 destroyers are too specialized... they're good vs frigs, and that's about it. Everything else kills them without breaking a sweat...

What I had fitted at the moment of the OP was:
High: 7x Light electron blaster 1 1x Standard missle launcher 1
Med: 2x Barton recharcher 1x Cold-gas 1 Arcjet Thrusters 1x Med Shield Booster
Low: Mark 1 Modified SS overdrive injector
Ammo: Antimatter (small) Sabretooth Light Missile
Thought it worked pretty well, but my skills have advanced a little. It's time for an upgrade.

A blaster setup on a cormorant...? I imagine the damage must be wonderful :D
Although why not ditch the cap rechargers for a Cap Injector and freeing you 1 mid slots?

High: 7x 150mm Rail II with spike ammo Mid: 2x Sensor Booster II, 2x Tracking Computer II Low: 1x MFS II
Sniper gallore, same optimal but better both alpha strike and dps than a Harpy, also got much better tracking :) Requiers advanced weapons upgrade level 5 to fit :( --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only when I get close enough. Over 10km I can't hit anything. Which is why I have the cold-gas. The rechargers are there allowing me to use the AB continuously, so getting close isn't as much of a problem.
I'm going to try some of the setups posted here when I get on tonight.

While I dont profess to have a good/the best Cormorant setup mine is
7x75mil railgun with Iron (or Tungsten) 1x missile launcher with emp missiles 1x Invulnerability field 1, 1x Afterburner (named), 1x small shield booster, 1x extender (biggest you can fit) 1x PDS
Range is still a problem (which is why I stopped using antimatter ammo) but I have solo'd an NPC cruiser with frigate escort spawn in 0.4 with it (the hairy bit is closing, once you are orbiting things get easier). I have also played with removing the shield booster and replacing it with another extender.

I'm dead happy with my Cormorant. All tech 1 because I'm newish 6 175mm coilguns 2 passive hardeners dujour 1 regolith medium extender 1 regolith small extender and I forget the power in my low slot.
Slow, ugly, but my momma loves me.

I have been told a decent setup for the corm is as follows-
7 x 75mm proto/tech2 railguns 1 x arbalest launcher 1 Cold gas arcjet AB 1 clarity SB 2 x Passive hardeners 1 PDS or Mag Stab
With the right skills at level 4 you can hit targets at 20 clicks. Also, with the right shield skills your passive hardeners can give your ship very good resists.

Have to agree that the use of 75mm's with Antimatter has always served me well. Usually I'd mix 4 x 125's with 3 x 75's. The increased tracking (if you're skills are low as mine were at the time) helps a lot to hit things that the 125's can struggle with.
