Originally by: Asarah I own a restraunt in NY, and one day I invent a new tek 2 salsa. Mango salsa. Now in order to make this salsa for sale in my restraunt I naturally will need a key ingredient, Mangoes, which, due to the needs of the fruit, can only be produced in tropical climates. Hmmm I look for local suppliers, nothing. Looks like I'm going to have to pay someone to transport mangoes here to NY for my tek 2 salsa production.
Fack God for not putting more Mango trees in New York State!!!! This is so unfair to us tek 2 salsa producers!!!!
Realism, FTW.
hehe... only... for some odd reason there are no mangos sold anywhere in the U.S even if they are sold in supermarkets all over the world. This means you need to buy the mangos from specialized retailers and that makes the prices and availability chaotic. So you raise the price on your salsa to compensate for the extra work, this makes salsa eating people hate you and every time you try to talk about the root of the problem you get flamed for being an evil monopolising bastard who just wants everything handed to him.

I'm not saying you're a monopolizing bastard.... heck, I encourage you to go wild w/ your T2 BPOs, tbh. But I figure that you should just deal with the price and availability issues by either talking to traders or moving the fuel yourself and just admit that there's no particular reason for the rocket fuel being where it is. It just "isn't grown" in Minmatar space.
As Tachy pointed out, my alliance is engaged in some hostile actions. While I will not condone our pilots (and will instead point out that the last four months of wars have all been declared against US) or their actions against legitimate war targets, it should be observed that depriving your enemies of arms and the materials to manufacture them is a wonderful way to maintain superiority. (relevance, RP and the Matar-Amarr wars)
Also, Jita is not somewhere that I plan to visit in the near future. If you want to argue NPC orders, I request that you link in a screenshot of the relevent market orders. ----------------------------------

It just isn't grown in Minmatar space. It is sold by tiny corporations (apart from Ammatar Fleet). The tiny corporations offices are usually on the edge of safe space.
The above mixed with demand of the item for production means there are some good trade route possibilities.
The largest NPC sell orders are by a corporation listed as a buyer?!?
This is imho an indication of the market and trade good system in general needing an overhaul. Rocket Fuel isn't the only trade good that is distributed in a weird way and listed wrongly in the item database. In order to be usable the item database needs to be accurate and dynamic.
The original post was made as I was picking up some 150k of rocket fuel in the Jita area, I won't need more in a while depending on how fast the end product gets sold. I have no problem picking up some rocket fuel myself since I regularly fly to Jita to put up sell orders and pick up deliveries.
My problem and interest lies in the fact that rocket fuel is idiotically hard to come by and this affects prices, this is true with many tech2 building components and the community in general seems to be completely blind to that fact. Tech2 production is not a sit back and watch the isk roll in business as many players seem to think.

Please post a screenshot of these orders.... 365 day orders are posted by NPCs, 90d or less by players... if you set a 34.55 isk buy order somewhere they sell water, and a 47.2 isk sell order where they buy water, you can automatically fill or grab the best prices on the product as Eve comes up at DT. When the sell price goes up and the buy price goes down, your order stops buying/selling.
Oh, wait, that's a trader secret, isn't it. ----------------------------------

Not realy a secret, even if some pilots try to hide that little piece of info.
The market reacts to such orders if they exist over a certain time though. But slowly. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |
