Caldari was the race most people picked because of missiles.
Jita is the most central system in caldari space.
Most people would go to Jita to trade, and hence it became the biggest hub. Since we introduced the new character creator in Incursion in January 2011, Gallente has been most popular for new characters.

I should add that the main trade hub may change at anytime. You will know if this happens when James 315 issues the decree making it so. Every time someone mentions that idiots name I puke a little...

Actually Caldari was the most popular early on due to attributes. When eve started your attribute base was determined by your race and bloodline. One Calari bloodline had a very low charisma, and hence higher everything else. People gravitated to that one to speed skill point acquisition for the more common skills. Now, it does not matter. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

When bloodlines mattered it was due to archura having the best attributes... I think everyone had an archura alt for that reason

I always thought the center would be around Uedama (which would be the most traveled lowest security in that area) considering how It seems to be the crossroads for most of the trade hubs, although this is factoring Jita. I've thought about using a nearby system as my base of operations at one point, but decided on a SOE station instead. It is funny how my SOE office prices have gone up about 10-20 times since the introduction of the new ships though and I sometimes consider moving.

Find Jita on the map in relation to the geographical "center" of New Eden. It's not in the geographical "center". The post you're quoting is

Incursion had nothing to do with it. THE FACT THAT THE GALLENTE RACE IS SUPERIOR IS WHY IT IS THE MOST POPULAR

Well this game is old, so you have to remember old meme's.
Back when we were all kids, kids being dumb. It's a proven fact that adults are smarter than kids, because kids brains aren't fully developed yet so technically they are dumb.
When we were all dumb kids, we were easily influenced.
There was a popular internet video where a bald cartoon character would ask his friend, "hey Ba Jita, what does the scanner say is his power level?
So us being dumb kids playing eve, we would go into Jita Local and constantly ask "jita"
Hey ba Jita, what does the market say is the price of hybrid small anti matter ammo?
and we'd all yell "ITS OVER 9000".
Well it was ALOT of fun. That's why initially JITA became packed. It was like SF during the 70's, fun and happiness, a never ending party 23/7 in Jita while we all ask "hey ba Jita" "Over 9000!" constantly.
Good times.
That children, dumb children, is why Jita still to this day is the economic center. It's where the people were. how many? Over 9000. |

Nope, look up Achura. For the longest of time, before attribute respec hit TQ, that was the race/bloodline to go for. Missiles being good for PvE was also a reason but not as big as the Achura attributes. Sable's Ammo Shop at Alentene V - Moon 4 - Duvolle Labs Factory. Hybrid charges, Projectile ammo, Missiles, Drones, Ships, Need'em? We have'em, at affordable prices. Pop in at our Ammo Shop in sunny Alentene. |

Othran wrote:Yeah, misses out the "superhighways/removal of superhighways saga" and then Naga* being in Nyabainen (moved from Jita due to problems with people getting into system - the more things change etc) which both tended to drive people there after Yulai "died".
It also misses Toiniainen Omu - the SWA agent who used to live in Kisogo two jumps away - he sent noob Deteis to the CN agents in Jita when he had finished with them. And it is wrong about the agents being high level - they weren't high level or high quality - it was because they were security agents and provided a convenient ladder from level 1 through to level 3.
Talking of Jita 4-4, isn't it time that CCP made the station special in some way? Like really big and shiny or something? Regardless of how you feel about it, it is the main hub of our game. |

Because CCP didn't put 0.0 or at least low sec. between every faction. So the players deemed it the hub, just like it used be Yulai.
