So like the dumbass that I am, I click the undock button and immediately realize that i forgot something.
My superior brain immediately sees the "Enter Captains Quarters" button as a back button since the "arrows" are pointing the opposite direction of the button I just pressed. So muscle memory goes into web browser mode and I click it.
My computer is still traumatized by what came after I did that. All I could do was sit there and go 0.o as my PC essentially went into bench testing mode trying to both load space and the captains quarters at the same time. When the CQ finally started to load after quite some time, the client finally figured out wtf was going on and put me in my ship that was now quite a ways off gate. Turns out it loaded me into space immediately, but had to load and unload the CQ while making me watch as my ship floated freely in the background.
I feel like a tard admitting this, but this is the 2nd time I have done this now lol.
Anyone else ever do this? Assuming there are no hostiles outside the gate this is just more funny then anything but it does seem like a function of the game that is broken. You should not be able to do this to yourself. Would id be hard to disable one button while the other is active / session change is happening?

No. CQ serves no useful purpose at the moment until CCP does something sensible with it, so I have it turned off.

Hmm. I remember being able to disable it back when we could not opt for ship spinning mode and it just showed a graphic of the door. I was unaware that it could still be disabled. Does disabling it remove the enter CQ button that I am referring to? If so I will take your advice and figure out how to disable it.
However, this is obviously something in the code that they just forgot to program and really should be fixed. That is unless im the only tard that has done this lol. but ether way, it is an oversight.
Thanks for the heads up on disabling it however.

Disabling CQ turns that button inactive with a mouse-over message that "you cannot Captain's Quarters when the 'load station environment' option is unchecked".
So in your case :) disabling CQ would be helpful. Over here I turned it 1 time on (on launch day) then turned it forever off. |

I have to agree. Those two buttons shouldn't be juxstapositioned as they are. One has nothing to do with the other, and as you've seen there's too much room for error.
I know CCP wants the Cap's Quarters to be prominently featured, but even in terms of simple design logic, where they put it equates to an obnoxious, chammy ad masquerading as a very important clickable function. When, we all know it's not.
However, I'll tell you. People who design like this think they're very clever. You'll never see it changed. Thus is the pitfall of those enamored of their own work - CCP's major failing in life. I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility toward every form of tyranny over the mind of man.-á |
