At the moment, the ONLY time Eve mentions that you will lose skill in the event of your strategic cruiser being destroyed is the first time you get into it. If you don't pay attention to that message you may never realise. I've been flying a Loki for months now and I never paid attention to the message - I found out by hearsay from other players. My suggestion would take a programmer literally a few minutes to implement. Write in the description for the strategic cruiser/subsystem/skillbook that this penalty exists. Otherwise there is no official mention of it until AFTER you have already bought and assembled your cruiser. Do you get a message just once telling you a Drake gives a kinetic missile damage bonus? Do you find out the Hyena boosts target painting from the talk of other players? No. It's mentioned in the descriptions. The strategic cruiser penalty should be too. |

Yeah, it would make sense to have a little sentence about it in each of the Subsystem skills. All it would need to be is something like, "If you are in a ship requiring this skill and it blows up, there's a chance that you'll lose a level of this skill". |

You have to intentionally turn off that message or it pops up every time you get back in. |

OK, didn't realise that. However, my point still stands that all other bonuses and penalties are advertised before shelling out millions of isk, and for parity of Eve house style it should be mentioned in a description somewhere. |

So basically, you want them to remove the tick box "do not show this message again?"
What I see is some butthurt after losing a t3, and then finding someone to blame for it. |

yeah, i agree; it should definitely show in some description, preferable on the ship description i myself was wondering about it, whether they removed it or not, as i did remember hearing something about it 2 years ago |

I was waiting for some moron to accuse me of "tearzz", and it's you. You win the booby prize of realising you aren't contributing to the thread. FYI, I have never lost a T3 ship. Now go play in the C&P thread where you belong. The message box should be removed, and in its place the information should be in the ship/subsystem/skillbook description like ALL other bonuses and penalties in Eve. Is that so hard to understand? What I don't get is why anyone would object to this idea. |

1. CCP are fixing issues that are more important that take days of coding time and effort. This change could be implemented by the programmers in the time it takes CCP Teaboy to make the coffee. The ratio of benefit/coding time is very much in favour of this change. 2. Learn some grammar. 3. The message does not have parity with all other bonuses and penalties in Eve, for no reason. If you think having it as a message and not a description is the way it should be, then you logically would also prefer to have a message telling you that a Mackinaw has 100% ice harvester yield bonus and 25% ice harvester duration penalty pop up every time you get in the Mackinaw. What's that? You think that would be silly? Well, duh.
Yes, the solution is to start paying attention, but the fact is, people don't always, partly because they expect all bonuses and penalties to be listed in the descriptions, like every single other item in Eve. If everybody paid attention all the time in this game, then gankings would be down 85%. Plus you also have to consider people's memory. It's not always perfect and they may simply forget. And once forgotten, there's no reminder. |

My point still stands that for parity of style with every other bonus and penalty in Eve, this penalty should be listed in a description rather than a box which cannot be referred to once dismissed. The box also only appears when you already own the ship. This also lacks parity with every other item in the game.
If anyone disagrees with this assertion, please state why it should NOT be in a description, and defend why other penalties listed in descriptions should not be in pop up boxes that only appear when you own the item. |

I agree with the OP on this one guys.
No need to be complete assholes.
In it's current state it shows you a warning.
What it should be. In the Description of the Ships and Skills. Mention the potential loss of Skill Points of Losing your Ship. Then after you lose your ship it could show a Message.
Due to being directly tied in your ship, during your escape you forgot to disconnect properly and damaged some of the active Neural Sensors that were running. It seems that you lost some knowledge of the following skills. [Racial] Offensive System IV [Racial] Defensive System IV [Racial] Propulsion System IV etc. |

Hmm, maybe you should pay closer attention.
Or you could: - Give me your T3 - Cry at its loss - Keep your SP - Move on with life - Get another T3 when you think you're ready to fly it "War is not measured in terms of who wins or loses, who is right or wrong.-á It is measured in terms of who survives." |

It should take less than five minutes to add this text to the descriptions of the ships/subs. It's a simple and small change so it doesn't even have to be tested at all... looks like a decent idea to me.

Closer attention to only one message for the whole value of what could be 2 weeks training time lost?
It's not like we're asking for a Buff / Nerf to any of the ships in the game... just for a little more warning. |

If it takes you two weeks to get a level 5 subsystem... I actually don't know what to say except, "remap?"

Yeah, that's fine, but seriously, that warning pops up every time you get in the ship. |

All I got from this post is that the OP doesn't pay attention. I'd agree with you on the info sheet showing the warning if only for consistancy's sake, but you already get a pop-up when getting in a T3 so a warning in the info sheet seems a little unneccessary. |
