Edited by: Heffy on 21/04/2006 04:27:28 Haven't seen any Iteron V setups for lowsec hauling. Anyone have a setup that works? Assuming good insta bm's are all setup for the routes...
ps - If I could use a transport ship, I would..but I can't.
edit: would like to maximize cargo space if possible, but still be able to align/warp quickly if a gate is being camped |

Heffy, you are asking the impossible - to maximize cargo space (via expanders in lows) while maximizing alignment speed (via nanos in lows) is a direct tradeoff.
My opinion for secure hauling in 0.0. 1) get a prototype cloak 2) get off axis safe spots that you can scan the gates from a safe distance to see if a gate is there 3) be willing to sit at said safespot cloaked and wait out camps and finally 4) all warp core stabs in lows so you cant get ganked on entering a system. 2-4 means no gank while exiting. That is a secure setup.

Okay.. I hear ya. Maybe 'maximize' was wrong word to use.
So, let me understand this...When entering a system and warping (when ship comes out of cloak and aligns and warps), is it warp core stabs that pretty much save you here? What if you are NOS'd after already beginning the warp alignment, can that prevent you from warping too? Or is it only warp disruption that stops a warp at this point?

Edited by: mazzilliu on 21/04/2006 04:53:49 warp stabs will be good if theyve already locked you and are scrambling. they will not help you if they are going for the "kill him before he can align" massive damage, or ramming with fast ships. or on the offchance that they have a fleet of tacklers.
nanos will get you out of there before you have to deal with it unfortunately if you are not quick enough they cannot help you much at all wheny ou are jammed and scrambled
edit: in conclusion, pick either all one, or the other. mixing makes both less effective -----------------------

I've used 3 WCS and 2 Nanos in the lows before. For 1-2 ships, you've got enough warp strength to get out, and the nanos REALLY help align faster. (Not shuttle fast, but more like cruiser fast. Still better than the Itty V's concrete-brick-in-glue fast.)
No clue on the mids. Still figuring that one out myself. But, the sensor booster and jammer option looks good. Or, raising shields enough to survive while aligning for warp might be enough.
Good call on the cloak and safe-spots. Regardless of fittings, reconning the next gate before warping there, insta's or not, is a good idea. One warp bubble can ruin a run, insta's or not.

If by lowsec you mean 0.1 - 0.4, then your biggest threat is sniping ships, and somewhat scramblers.
Something like 2 or more stabs in lows, and mediums with AB+Shield extenders/hardener+(1-2 multispecs) might work. For highs, cloak definetly.
So like: 1 proto cloak; AB+EM harderner+shield extender+2 ECM; 2xstabs + 3xnanos (or extenders if really need them).
If you want to travel in 0.0 with valuable stuff, you really need a scout. Even small (<5) gang on gate with interdictor sphere can kill you regardless of your setup.

Correct, only scrambles. Say you are cloaked after jumping, you see some campers and hit "warp to". The warp will suck its cap just as you decloak to align, so the warp is already "paid for", cap-wise.

Dont even bother with offensive mods. Chances are you'll be taken out by a sniping ship quicker than you can lock/jam them.
Lows: Nano/WCS
Mids: Shield Hardeners
High: Nowt.
