What happened to the days of the Tier 2 Battleship being the pwnmobile...
Why is everything so revolving around tech 2 now.. Prices.. whining.. Pvp...
I miss the days when you could run across a hostile tech 1 frig.. or cruiser.. and if you died.. you really didnt care cause it was only 5 mill for a cruiser...
now a days.. you either run across a tech2'ed out Hac that can pwn Battleships...
or a new Recon or whatever the new toys are that just EW and slowly pwn you...
shame... i really enjoyed tech 1 fights... Actually seeing an executor on the battle field... and it fighting =oP

I run into hostile cruisers and the like all the time... BCs... battleships... you name it. T1 is still the bomb

Tech 2 isnt that much better then tech 1 is it?
the Battleship and Battlecruiser are still far far better then any HAC due to being more versitile.

Arn't a lot of the top-teir named items actually superior to their tech 2 counterparts? Better fitting, equivilant (or better) abilities, etc.

Wrong. They don't bonus from the Tech2 'Specilization' skills.
EG. At face value
425mm Prototype ...
and
425mm Railgun II
seem equal, but only the t2 will bonus from 'Large Railgun Specialization' therefore making it better and cheaper.

Not all tech 2 modules get those bonuses. Or have skills for that. There's more than ships, drones, and guns in tech2, ya know. :P

Battleships are much better than HAC's, you get insurance AND you can fit more miner II's on them

That and a well setup BP can fu** up most HACs as well. They may be slower but BS and BC can be a lot fun and are a good choice still.
If you think you need a HAC to win a fight you need to rethink.

Losing a T1 cruiser with T1 fittings will set you back about 3-4mil. Losing a T2 cruiser with T2 fittings will set you back whatever the producers feel like charging, which is over 200mil at the moment. Is a T2 cruiser 50 times better than a T1 cruiser? No chance. Maybe twice as good at one thing if it is set up specifically for it.

The only t2 ships I see regularly used are frigates. Interceptors and covert ops mostly. All others t2 are used in small numbers for specialised tasks (most fleets these days includes an interdictor for example, but more than one or two are rarely seen).

normally someone in a hac will pwn someone in a bs because the hac pilot has a great deal more experience?
obviously this isnt always the case but more often than not

IMO Tech 2 is making this game lame...
It's just so stupid when battleships are all the sudden second class equipment just because thei're tech 1. What ever happened to the days where bigger really was better... Gone!

Battleships still own HACs quite easily if fitted properly.

Carriers and dreadnaughts are tech.1 too. See how many HACs it'll take to get one down...
a tech.2 ship is on comparable footing with tech.1 ship one class bigger, nothing really stupid about it when you think of it and take into account both the training times involved and the price difference.

When going to wars i fly tec1 ships, cruisers mostly.
The only tec2 i use in pvp is intercepters.
its alot more cheaper/fun this way

Most top-named mods have the same stats of a T2 item, or maybe slightly less, but much easier fitting reqs.
However as far as weapons go, the T2 is better, because the named isnt affected by the spec skills.

HACs have great uses in pvp, yes they are harder to fit than bs but overall they are very able to defeat even battleships.
As with most things in eve, its all about the setup the skills and how u keep your head in battle.
its all about how you play the game and what happens to come up, as there are so many different setups for all ships no one ship can be claimed better than the other, its what makes eve lasting fun rather than just fun for a while

Point taken, however, everyone has battleships, they are nothing special, people are more afraid of lag and mass ganking then the acctual ships...
