I also got Snake, England, and Honor... which I thought was funny cause we all know England and honor don't go together **BURN!** and snake and honor are oxymorons as well. --- --- --- ---

Edited by: Tsual on 24/04/2006 21:55:57 /me wonders what to make out of the "al" syllabel in japanese.
Some pronounce Tsual like "su-al", I speak it more like "tsu-al" and someone suggested "shoe-ul".

I actually used two different japanese name-translators to get my real name into this character's name in Japanese, to fit the asian bloodline thing.
Both are from the website, linked here and here.
Trying all the variations of my name apparently doesnt get any matches :/
What I did get from my RL first name was "Love Moral" or "Pity Neighbor". Hmm.. -

This is retarded. Most American/British have no translations for their names, even in their own language, they are just names. Accept for obvious ones like Crystal, or Candie etc..
All they are doing are taking the romanji for the English letters in your name and just translating the romanji groups. Amy would convert to A - MI. Now they could do two things here, Just translate A, and then MI like that site does. Or translate it correctly in which the whole name would mean "net or network". Trust me if you think these are name translations you are dead wrong, these are just random definitions for individual Kanji. Take any Consonant and Vowel and you have a kanji that could mean a thousand different things depending on how it's used.
A name like Brian, or Gary means nothing. It can't be translated because it had no meaning to begin with. If you actually have a name with a "local" meaning like Crystal, then you would translate Crystal from English to Japanese, not KU RI SU TA RU. Cause if you do it that way your name suddenly has 5 random meanings lol. The proper translation for Crystal would be: suishou. Or the english word spelled out in Katakana.
Most EVE Character names can be easily translated to Japanese, but not with that translator. ------------------

kie means "devotion" usually to a religious sense. ron means nothing. Especially used in the context of Kie. Just as an example of how that translation page is meaningless. ------------------

sounds like an anime series
The other sites gave me 'Big Radiance in the Center of the Village'. That'll be the sun reflecting off my head then.

Ya, but it's still kinda interesting to see what it comes out as through that method.
Btw, just a random note, I entered in the names of a couple girls I liked just out of curiousity into a related website - all had Chiaki, or "very fine in autumn" as their Japanese last name .

That's funny... cause... there's a two page thread of Eve names that have been translated... with this translator.

Edited by: Tsual on 25/04/2006 19:58:58 Using the english equivalent for my rl first name I get "Flow Air" (with DD's translator) and "monkey on a crossing bridge" + "fast person" with Michiyo's first translator.(the non bishi(?i))
For Tsual I get with Mychiyo's first translator "Matsuo (tail of a pine tree) Tsubasa (wing)"
And now if a certain joke comes up because someone finds out what the RL name is, I will choke him mentally over the internet - and I'm serious about it.
