I loved homeworld.
I still love homeworld as my favorite RTS of all time--its slow enough that there's time for real thought and strategy.
Anyone want to play a game? I'm free around 2100 to 0200 EVE time on weekdays, and all day EST on weekends.

QFT. Unfortunately they removed most of the slowlyness in Homeworld 2 .

I never bothered playing Homeworld online, but I was active on the official boards for about a year and a half. Some people from the boards (QwaarJet, Elorran, Kushan_Pilot, Jayalin...) play EVE and are the people who got me interested in it. On those boards I was known as "MobileAcolyte" and then had my name changed to "TheAge", so most of the former Homeworld forumites refer to me as "Age" in EVE. <3
Good times. ~~~

Edited by: Exavier Macbeth on 26/04/2006 21:26:50 I loved homeworld 1 and 2. Cataclysm was a little out there though i did enjoy the big gun you could get on your mothership :P
I found a mod (that is still in development today) call PDS for Homeworld 2. They basicly turned it into a tactical fleet game with realistic looking weapon loadouts (Higarian Destroyer changed to have 6 dual barrel cannons, 2 ion beams, 1 plasma bomb array of about 20 launchers in one, about 10 other deck guns good for anti fighter/corvette, and 20 missle barrage system). They gave almost every ship about 5x the weapons and added about a dozen completly new models to the game.
You get some really chaotic battles because so many projectiles are fired (due to the anti-missle/fighter systems) that you really can't tell who is shooting at who. Also the mod is 100% compatable with the normal storyline exept for the fact that it makes it insainely hard (which made it more fun imo).
I just wish that i could find relyable targets... er human players to play aginst :P
Edit: I figured i should note that you need a pretty good Computer for PDS to work properly :P

I loved Homeworld and I hated it at times. Btw. there was a great Mod for Homeworld 2, which made Battles so much more interesting.
