If you hadn't already see the website Gearbox revealed on the 5th: http://www.homeworldremastered.com/
I voted for the 12 inch model >:3
And for those of you concerned about Gearbox messing this up they pretty much can't at this point since they went and got the original guys that made HW1 and 2 and are for the most part throwing money at them.

I remember capturing some "alien" mini carriers in HW1 and they did not had any fighters when i used them, so they finished as a bait ships, because I liked the design of them and did not want to lose any. Sentient Drone: **y d* y*u h*** *s *** |

I made a point of capturing as many enemy frigates as possible early on, so I'd have plenty of resources for the bigger, shiney stuff later on. My computer had trouble maintaining a decent framerate at a certain point.
That said, I'd probably buy the proposed redo of the franchise, but it's Gearbox... |

I actually spent the last two days streaming the HW1 campaign.
I have blown out the unit caps like crazy.
I have 19 multi beam frigates alone and I stole about 11 of those fuel pods you mentioned Bagrat. I find that they look a lit like EVE's present day Sigil xD I then stole 4 more of them and they're still alive right now. I have 9 destroyers and 2 missiles destroyers, only only built 4 of them :P I've stolen all 3 BCs that have been presented to me thus far but then I also recycled them all because I like the Taiidan BC design better :3 I'm currently working at stealing everything single one of the ion frigates in the massive sphere on mission 14. I have 62 so far.
I have no RUs left but have managed to keep all my unit caps maxed. I don't really need strike craft any more because keeping a few grav wells with my capital fleet lets me **** up any fighters the come my way. And if that doesnt do it the fact I have 20 assault frigates and 2 missiles destroyers should do it. The Drake is a Lie |

I knew about this for some time i don't think they will mess up this but i am frankly disappointed that guys from Sins of solar empire didn't offer enough money for franchise when it was on a sale half year ago or so. http://i.imgur.com/1N37t.jpg

Who wants to bet that one of the first things they "fix" in the remastered version is to hard-enforce the unit cap? http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/User:Akita_T Build your own EVE PC http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=1559734 |

Ya know what'd be better? If they fixed it so that I could steal the entire ball of ions canons without the last 20% of them flying off the map for no reason and THEN letting me hyperspace out without having to retire 50 of them cause the military parade causes them to go off the map. I bet you did.
I only ever played Homeworld 2. It was alright. Didn't feel like anything special at the time.
The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity. |

It's all about the story telling style.
HW1 though is like the start of my PC gaming career, my online gaming career, and a decent chunk of my childhood. The Drake is a Lie |

What I got from the game was that there was 2 sides and they had the same ships except one side had lasers and the others missiles.
I like the lasers more because with missiles you would end up with one huge volley of them just hanging mid air as the enemy warped off.
It seems to have more in common with Eve than I first thought. The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity. |

It was the first space based RTS that had a fully 3D environment Tactical formations of ships made a difference, all other games until then had just gone the 'blob' route Frigates could move and fire simultaneously, but only within a field of fire envelope .. it was ground breaking gaming.
It also helped that the story was quite good. It also helped that they had a good score for the game too.
First time I played it, and came back from the wrecked 'support ship' mission I was gutted, I wanted those evil bastards deader than a dead thing at an angel of death convention.
I voted for the smaller model, cos I'm poor :(

Why does reading that break my heart?
The big one has blinking lights and require a power cable. Seems a bit much for a desk model.
And since it's homeworld. No person you know in the real world will ever know what the figure is. I was VERY happy when i read about this, i hope they pull out an X-Com move and make it pretty good, gearbox are normally OK so am hopeful.. i suspect will need to take time off work when this arrives, homeworld was simply superb the first time around! |
