I was just wondering if anyone uses faction bs's and equipment to npc in, or do level 4's? It seems to me an awful risk to use such ships considering what they are worth. On a side note, whats the most expensive ship you've heard of doing this?

People do lvl IV missions in faction ships, and the richer people PvP in them as well. I doubt too many people belt rat in them, though.

Sure. Recently picked up a Caldari Navy Raven myself. My current project is now to save up the isk to gear it up in nice faction type loot (mmm I need a gistii xlarge bad). No way would I take it into 0.0/low sec though. Thats what a normal t2 raven is for. I mean its already risky enough to take it into the harder lvl 4's (never know power could go out server lag etc..).
But its also no fun letting it sit in the hanger to look at either. Faction BS's are awesome for mission running IMO. I suppose for the pvper with everything they are expensive toys. But even for pvp it could be gone in a blink of an eye to focused fire from a fleet. And you bet that shiny faction bs will be called primary.

Translate the ISK value of that ship into timecard dollars and you could pay a month of my apartment's rent. I'm simply in awe.

I¦m using 4 faction BSs for missioning. My favourite ship is the Bhaalgorn with its great tanking ability.
Nice raven setup there btw

I've used faction bs for npcing and complexes yes. A vindicator to be precise.
But tbh, i found it lacking severely when comparing worth to added value. So I ditched it again and went back to good old HAC's and tech1 BS for that.
However, aside from npcing there's a good lot of faction ships used in pvp these days. I'd say there's at least a dozen or two BoB pilots that take their faction BS into pvp semi-regularly, let alone using them for the much safer npcing.
