Edited by: Jaabaa Prime on 25/12/2006 02:44:09 Fix for Salvaging requirement being level 3 and not level 5
To add a bit of nice news, I had a chat with Chribba the other day and he said that I will be able to upload the files to eve-files.com that are required for doing an online installation directly on your phone.
I'll post the information for doing online installations as soon as that is sorted out and available.
And while I'm at it: I wish you all a merry christmas --

Stumbled across a minor bug - I just added Jury Rigging to my char and noticed that the planner lists it as rank 3 skill while it's only a rank 2 skill ingame.
I expect a re-import of my xml-data would fix this (might be time for this anyway as I haven't always remembered to switch training on the phone :)).
And....
Merry Christmas everybody - and ofcourse a happy New Year, too

How did you manage to get 466,745 SPs ? --

Thanks for the update :D
However - I have to report another bug :(
I've just trained Clarity to lvl 2 (have Spatial Awareness at lvl 4), but the Mobile Planner doesn't seem to include bonuses from adv. learning skills before their basic counterpart has been trained to 5) and hence training times difer from the game as do the reported effective stats in the planner.

Duh, I forgot about that. 1.2.15 is now available: Advanced learning skill bonuses are now applied when base learning skill is level 4 or above --

Impressive work - Thanks for Your effort.
Ehm... I decided to delete the xml-file I had on my phone and fetch a new copy of the xml-data - turns out I can't load it You haven't played with the xml-parsing between 1.2.14 and 1.2.15? Or maybe CCP changed the xml-output a tiny bit?
Unfortunately I haven't got the old xml-file to check that. (Edit: and then again, I might have - will check my computer when I get back at work tomorrow :))

Narrowed my import problem down to the Salvaging skill:
<skill typeName="Salvaging" typeID="25863"> <groupID>269</groupID> <flag>7</flag> <rank>3</rank> <skillpoints>750</skillpoints> <level>1</level> <skilllevel1>750</skilllevel1> <skilllevel2>4243</skilllevel2> <skilllevel3>24000</skilllevel3> <skilllevel4>135765</skilllevel4> <skilllevel5>768000</skilllevel5> </skill> Removing this from my xml-file makes the Mobile Planner happily import the file - with the above portion in, it just 'hangs' at 'Loading Erialor Godsent'
Ofc. I can just add the skill manually after importing the xml-file - but I hope it's fixable

Thanks for that information, it took me straight to the problem.
For some reason I had the wrong type typeID for the Salvaging skill.
This has been updated and is now available for download (V 1.2.16). --

Your phone has to support JSR-75 (files) and JSR-172 (XML parser) for this to work.
bugger :( Looks like I'll be waiting until I get a new phone then. Don't really want to spend time updating a 40mil SP character.

Edited by: Jameroz on 02/01/2007 21:07:08 Any chance we'll see xml loading without JSR-172 (XML parser) My 6630 doesn't support it As coder I would think xml parser wouldn't be too hard thing to do and the amount of phones, that could then use xml updates, would be rather huge.
What about alert options?

I'm investigating kXML 2 for a future release, and then being able to remove the dependancy on JSR 172.
I've been looking into alerts too, it doesn't look like it would be too difficult to use the PushRegistry to start the application at a pre determined time. --

Dunno how much application that was in "sleep mode" would consume battery... but if it wouldn't eat battery too fast it could be ran on the background. Tho I guess checking every 5 mins if skill is going to be ready next X minutes would do the trick too. Preferably make it so that everyone can set the time themselves then I can set it to be like 5mins when I'm in home and 1 hour when I'm not so I have some time for traveling.
Any chance to see the source code published?

One thing that would really make this the ultimate app would be automatic updating.
Essentially a mobile version of evemon.
The phones all have data capabilities. Every hour or so (or manually when directed), they access the eve character file. It would take some work, but would really make this the killer app it is crying out to be. A mobile version of evemon which updates in real-time would be the ultimate.

Yes, it would be neat. Dunno how the current XML thingy works (Phone missing the XML component used atm)... only by manually uploading the file?
I presume it wouldn't be too hard to fetch it. Tho probably requires you to log in, save the cookies and then access the url with the cookies available. (Please tell if you know better way)
been doing it with following unix shell script
Quote:
$id="" $username="" $password="" wget --quiet -O temp --keep-session-cookies --save-cookie login.txt --post-data "username=$username&password=$password&remember=1&Check=OK&login=Login&r=&t=" https://myeve.eve-online.com/login.asp sid=`cat temp | grep -o "sid=[0-9]*"` wget --quiet -O xml.asp --load-cookie login.txt "http://myeve.eve-online.com/character/xml.asp?characterID=$id&$sid"

I would use the PushRegistry alarm to start the application shortly before the next skill is due to complete, I would make the amount of time before it completes variable though.

The Sun developer's toolkit includes a mobile phone emulator, I just fire up the application with that

It is actually very do-able, once I have the application switched over to using kXML2, I should be able to easily add the code to download the XML and parse it. --
