Look at how many jumps it is for a titan from BoB space to ASCN space. We're both lazy.

Does that mean a titan cannot be warp scrambled and can jump even in the event of a warp disrution probe?
So I'm guessing no one knows or is it like a super secret thing?

There are three things preventing titans from being in the game right now:
1.) Money. This one is so easily solved tho that it's not really a problem.
2.) Training a pilot. Much more of a roadblock than people might think.
3.) Logistics and build time. It's a *****. Period.
Titans are going to come. They won't be common tho. I have some doubts about thier use as offensive weapons, at least at first. As always though, someone will find a way to make it work. Maybe even us. -

I seem to remember you saying you'd rather have every pilot in a dread/carrier/mothership then 1 in a titan.

Long answer - For now, yeah. If we figure out we want or need one (like when BoB or ASCN does something cool with one and our pilots go, "OMFG MUST HAVE UBER SHIP!!"), then we'll build one. Or three.
Short answer - Shhhhhh!!! I'm trying to scare people, damnit!
Tin Foyle Hat answer - Dianabolic already had our minerals two weeks ago. -

All I'm thinking right now is that a clash of the Titans is a battle I would PAY to go and see and be subsequently annihilated by as the solar system is cleansed by doomsday weapons.

What would be even better (and would never happen) is if both fleets commited a 100% of their forces to the fight with a titan on each side (no other capital ships) and both hit the super weapon killing the whole fleet leaving just the titans looking at each other.

Should be interesting, certainly. Of course the market transactions of the corporations selling Titan BPOs still show only that one Erebus print sold. So while it's possible several are being built, the ingame tools can verify only one.

Well, for those who don't know, BOB has a Titan in the works, How far along, not really sure. Last I heard, they had like a quater of the materials needed, so tack on 3 months of build time, and there ya have it.
That being said, BOB having a Titan concerns me about as much as my neighbors kitten. Heck, it already takes them overwhelming firepower to take a system.... or even have the nerve, so what's the big deal about another toy.

This is what's gonna hapen. A corp get's the Titan ready. They load it up with stuff to make it operational. Then comes the big day of defending a territory or attacking a enemy. the the events evolve in to perfect point to use the super weapon to get a large fleet out of the existance once and for all. So this is what happens. ERROR weapon malfuction. The Titan pilot is heard swearing out he's gut's on ventrillo "this thing does not work dammit" CCP forgot to finish the code.

Yep, it's not other players you have to worry about, it's the bugs.

QTF.
I'd say a good 60% of ships I lose are to bugs/lag and stuff.
Of course, I'm never reimbursed because the GM's can't reimburse ANYTHING these days...

I'm curious about what type of titan is being produced...
I hope they find a way to get it to empire. Imagine seeing a titan parked outside the busiest station in Jita getting suicided by all 300 pilots in the system =p.

That means you can't paint/web/scram/jam them.
Cargo Scanners work though, so do NOS.

I honestly thought that no one would ever bother building them at all,as the logistics/mineral requirements/build time/BPO costs, just don't make it worthwhile, and investing 250+ billion to build 4 of them, for the dubious advantage of being able to stagger multiple doomsday weapon detonations,is kinda silly for the money paid, since you're assuming enemy targets are dumb enough to be anywhere near a group of titans when they go off...
I'm also assuming that those doomsday weapons also affect friendly escort ships belonging to the same corp/aliance that owns the titans,so a group of titans can't benefit from protection from anything smaller than friendly dreads, since those can resist multiple doomsday blasts...
Personally,i'd think you'd get much more bang for the buck from a combined force of dreads, carriers, and motherships, and with the same 250 billion on hand, you could easily build 15+ motherships and those 15 have big enough ship maintenance bays to carry 30+ BS's,with room to spare for dozens more BC's/cruisers/AF's and interceptors ready and waiting to launch, once the capital ships arrive at their destination..
Add that those 15 motherships plus several more carriers could also potentially deploy of over 300 fighters or heavy/med/light T2 drones, and i'd love to see an enemy fleet wanting to go thru that many to get to the motherships/carriers...

hi
I have a few questions for those that have a titan:
1) Can you fit a Siege module on to a titan?
2) if you activate the siege mod. with the doomdays device what would be the damage output (this is just out of curiousity even if you can't fit it on a titan)??

EDIT: And yeah, doing that while keeping it safe from enemies would of course require some effort, but still...
/me imagines the hordes of people waiting in line and wanting to get blown up by th superweapon, and paying a lot for it too

yeah, imagine some poor sap who warps his fleet with 50+ bs right into the arc of the titan's superweaponS. *click* no more ships *click* no more pods. 20+ bil down the tube with two mouse clicks.
i don't even know if a titan has to align to warp. and their turrets track like ****. i believe you'd be better off with 3 carriers and 20 something battleships. or 10k frigs. the point of diminishing returns comes really fast after battleships. sig indecision...lol |
